The headline advertised an ancient battery, so I came to see what was advertised. Imagine my disappointment when I realized this was just another "click bait" video that never showed what was advertised!

it wasn't a battery; it was most likely for holding prayers and tokens as suggested by several somewhat similar objects found in other places, containing scrolls.

For some years now, Cyrus the Great has become for me the greatest empire builder and ruler in all history. He never forced his culture and religion on those he conquered. Men and women earned the same amount of money for the same work. The Cyrus Cylinder is a model of justice for all. As a partly Greek person, I've learned that Athenian Democracy was nothing compared to what Cyrus established in ancient Persia. I hope and pray that Iranians today are taught to revere their magnificent heritage.

It was found near Baghdad, the capital of Iraq, and it is said to be a battery from the Iranian Empire. Are you joking or misleading the viewers? Why didn't they find it in Iranian territory instead of Iraqi territory? If your statement is logical and scientific, this is nothing but historical falsification.

@@My_home_land If Persia ruled over Iraq, this does not mean that the invention should be attributed to Iran. Otherwise, such batteries would have been found in all parts of the (empire). Can you mention a place in Iran other than Baghdad where such a battery was found? Also, calling the state the Iranian Empire is a mistake. The empire was called the Sassanian Empire. Iran is a modern name that is less than 100 years old."

The video has great information in it but is done very poorly so is difficult to watch. Still, I appreciate finding out about the mortar, and I did not know they built shallow ponds close. Thank you.

Why did you show a map of the Roman Empire. They weren't even a unified republic untill after the Persian empire fell to Alexander.

What a beautiful and elegant museum! This old American has so wanted to visit Iran and, in particular, Yazd. My interest in the Mazda Yasna faith is the motivation for this desire. But, I also read Sufi poetry and am currently going through the entire Divan of Hafez, in English translation, for the second time. I hope that I can get there before I become too old to travel. Thank you so much for this. ❤
