I’m very concerned with the mlb market on Sorare. Players do not sell on public offer, I think because not many people play and those who do want first owner collections so they only buy off of auctions and instant buy. In theory I feel like there should be plenty of valuable players for low prices, but as someone who doesn’t watch much baseball I find it hard to get these gems.

Great video. I have a question tho, how do you feel about Corbin Carroll? Is it time to put him in the training lineups or should I keep him in a competition? (I only have enough players to do one competition)
@PasqualWisdom2 ай бұрын
Short Answer: Yes. Long Answer: You're in the same boat as everybody with Carroll. Before the season I think almost everybody expected a fully healthy Carroll and really great year, but he's obvioulsy having a terrible 2024. If we look at the games since he popped his shoulder out of joint last summer, it's kind of alarming. From the start of 2023 until he injured the shoulder on 6/29/23 he had a .926 OPS, 17 HR and 24 SB. He missed 3-4 days and was back on July 2 of last year. Here's July 2-end of season... .808 OPS (basically league average) only 8 HR and 30 SB. So the power went away in the second half last year and an .808 OPS is maybe slightly better than a league average hitter. Still good for fantasy and Sorare because of the steals, but not the mega star he looked like pre-injury. This year of course is an abject disaster so far. Only 9 SBs in two months? We thought even if the hitting wasn't completely back, we'd at the very least get steals. Have to get on first base to steal though and he's certainly not doing enough of that. My thought is we'll probably hear about him having shoulder surgery at some point soon. For now I'd stash him. You'd be selling really low here and there's certainly a decent chance he's something great again down the road. We've seen the skills translating to big league success in 2022 and pre-injury 2023 and he's still really young at 23. Thanks for watching.

Any cards u would recommend me buying ? My first season on mlb so rare i have a $200 budget to build a lineup
@PasqualWisdom3 ай бұрын
With $200 I'd recommend playing AL/NL Limited. Classic season cards are much more afforable and you can win those in-season cards to use or sell from the AL/NL classic card competitions. My advice is not to spend too much on pitching as there are matchups to take advantage of throughout the year and focus on players who are playing every day and batting near the top of their team's lineups. While the more expensive "great" players certainly can help you win, they aren't always necessary. In this format, even lesser players can have big game weeks from time to time. Good luck!

@@PasqualWisdom thank you for the information! Is there any players u would recommend for me specifically that fit the “scheme” your telling me about ? Like i want cj abrams for example but not sure if i should put that much in one player when i still need a bunch more players .

@@Deemoney0012Abrams is one I really like. He’s only 23 and will get as much playing time as he can handle. A little more affordable than some of the more established star players too.

A question on park factors from someone who is new to baseball. Is a pitchers' vs batters' park due to actual physical conditions, or is it to do with pressure from the crowd, etc? I'm just wondering if baseball fields are allowed to be shorter/longer within a certain range, maybe, which would make home-runs easier for example.
@adzaga3 ай бұрын
Every ballpark has different measures. Some have shorter left field, some right, some are at high altitude (Colorado ballpark, batters' park), some depend on the weather conditions, and some (domes) are not influenced by anything.
@biggustago28123 ай бұрын
@adzaga thanks for the response. I guess a high altitude means thinner air so the ball flies farther? Or is it just that the players tire out more quickly 😅

It seems like MLB is going to be harder to get cards than NBA has been, based on card-rewards per player. But I'm about 20 off in limited pro with 5 players left with a game, so hopefully some of them do something good for me! I have no funds left to buy players after going on a bit of a spree on the football side of things, which maybe wasn't wise as the end of the season approaches... But hoping some of the guys I have keep popping up at the top of your lists

I'm new to the baseball side of things (and baseball in general). Is it common for players to just not play? I've had DNPs in each of the last three weeks, all different players. Baseball isn't really a thing here, so I don't know much about the sport
@PasqualWisdom3 ай бұрын
Most regular players will sit once in awhile. For example Tyler O'Neill is off to a hot start and he's healthy, but he's been out of the lineup twice this season (he sat Saturday). Every player is different based on previous injury history and such. Then there are utility players who just fill in here and there. Those are the avoids in Sorare because you really don't know when they're playing. Some players almost never sit (Acuna, Albies, Olson in ATL played almost every game last season) but that's rare. You'll get a DNP here and there from a regular starter, but if you get too many, that guy isn't worth starting obviously. I'd say join the Patreon as a free member and ask in the chat about specific players and I'll let you know :)

Ha L10s! I’m an idiot. So the last ten games average is the salary cap metric you have to fit your lineups under in Sorare NBA. So when I say 9 L10, that player’s salary cap number is a 9.

Your hitters look decent for this strategy. I think you can roll with them and be competitive most of the time. I don’t love Assad. I think Webb gets it turned around and Burnes is looking great in 2024. RPs are generally cheap. I’d maybe add a few cheap but effective RPs as needed and rotate them a bit. @PasqualWisdom4 ай бұрын
Personally, I like to try to find players with RP designations who are actually decent starters. I have a few closers in my gallery for those weeks when the starts don't add up, but if you have a starter in that spot you're at least guaranteed something. If you use a true reliever, they may not pitch at all and you take a zero. Another thing to look at once the season starts is if the RP has pitched the last two straight days. MLB teams will almost never use an RP 3 straight games, so you can eliminate at least one possible opportunity from that upcoming game week. Some RPs who are starting this season, but still RP eligible to start this season (previous season's cards ofc)... AJ Puk is my favorite, Michael King a close second, and Jordan Hicks third. All starting in GW1. Last I looked Hicks was around $4, Puk $6, and King $14. Good luck. Thanks for watching.

Can you post this excel file?
@PasqualWisdom4 ай бұрын
Hi Joey, I'm not planning to post the sheet publicly. I feel like I have valuable information for Sorare or fantasy players in general and these videos take between 3-5 hours each to make (between building, updating, filming, and editing) My goal for the channel was/is to get enough subs and watch hours to monetize without making the people taking in the content pay for anything. It's been a slow grind up to 180 followers and I'm still a long way away from the thresholds KZbin puts on monetization. Other thought might be to offer read access to the sheet for subs who are interested in a small monthly or rest-of-season fee? The plan for now is to put out videos with the best plays for the coming week before the previous week locks. For example, next week I'll post GW2 plays before GW1 locks giving my subs a chance to stay ahead of price increases on cards. Hopefully, my subs can use this to either get prepared early for their lineups or buy/sell their way to profits. Thanks for watching!
