N1K1 suffered from wing wake hitting the tail, N1K2 prob got better on that aspect. 4 degree incidence on laminar airfoil root sounds nightmarish for high speed pull.

Well, I searched online and it seems like Type 24 indeed has a better top speed due to the upgraded engine. A game called IL-2 list the top speed 460km/h at 1800m. Ki-27 is probably 445km/h at the same altitude. So 15km/h speed difference perhaps. Higher they get, the gap between them would be more prominent. I think it's a very unique contrast that they went for totally different strategies. But the important bit is that doing hit and run usually requires a better instantaneous firepower whereas the maneuverable tail chasers only need 2 machineguns as long as they can track the target for a significant time. The fire rate of the guns are as twice as fast I believe, so 4 times the fire power actually? I think it's true, as long as the general projectile mass per second goes.

Your figure on the top speed of I-16 type 24 is exaggerated. Type16 excelled at diving, though the lateral stability is terrible. The popular idea of "faster allied planes with a proper tactics" stuff is applicable to more advanced designs, the early Japanese planes are competitive in the horizontal top speed. It's more about diving and using the total energy at the plane's advantage. I-16 is ever so slightly slower but it's nearly identical so that I don't think it's consistent in real life, but it's just not that significant. It just gives more respects to those fought in the situation, though. I really don't like wars and stuffs, I only like planes because they look elegant. Anyway.

The early Ki-27 variant doesn't have wing fuel tanks, due to the chief designer's beliefs in survivability. Due to the wings being the easiest spot to get hit.

The amazing performances of the second prototype after the application of the German-built DB 605 and VDM propeller, speeds close to 700 km/h, were due to the presence of the MW50 system. The Re.2005 had performances comparable to those of the G.55 but with structural problems to be solved and cost about 50% more.

Harsh terms of peace and 10% of land lost are two different things when fighting against a country of 150m people with 4m of your own. I'm pretty sure other Russian neighbors would agree to give a slice of forest for independence if they had the possibility in the end of WW2 instead of becoming part of Soviet Union for 50 years. Karelia is literally nothing but endless forests with nothing else valuable than wood which is pointless mostly these days because of the Internet over paper news. Also the Russians have ruined every city/village in there these days and 99% of the Finnic people evacuated long before they got there. It's like if your neighbor stole your hat and took a shit in it, would you still want the hat back?

Focke best, P-39 next, A6M last. Because the high speed ergonomics is all that matters in an ideal combat scenario.

The 4 degree root incidence def gave it a favorable stall characteristics whilst providing a stability unlike changing the tip incidences.

I'm pretty sure YAk-3 is more maneuverable than A6M except the simple turn radius. If the turn radius is the thing to talk about, Almost all Japanese fighters have lower wing loading with thicker wing sections. I think Yak-3 is waaaaay more polished though.

It is amazing that the raf gave priority to building the gladiator over the gloster monoplane. In 1937 especially since it could not even catch the then modern German bombers.

Tempest is overall better, but I'd say La-7 is more sleek in design. I like the tempest's chin radiators though. La-7 might roll better.

Best medium bomber of WW2? Easy. DeHavilland Mosquito. Not only could it deliver 3,000lb of KABOOM! precisely where you wanted it, it could do a heckuvalot more beside. Recon? Yup. Stick a 2,000L fuel tank in the bomb bay, and it could fly from London to Moscow, and back, before fuel became a concern. Heavy Fighter? Yup. 4x20mm cannon plus 4x0.5" MG's could ruin anyone's day, and the Mozzie was both FAST and MANEUVERABLE. Ground Attack? Yup. See above. That armament could ruin the day of those on the ground too. Add on the rockets that it could carry & launch, and, yeah... Night Fighter? Yup. Big enough to carry radar, 8x guns, job's a good 'un. One of the late-war missions of the Mozzie squadrons was to hang around Luftwaffe airfields at night & spawnkill the fighters as they took off to attack the Heavies. Anti-Ship? Oh Yeah. The Tsetse variant, with it's 57mm cannon could poke holes in pretty much every hull the Kriegsmarine had available in period, and sent many surface boats & subs to the bottom. The Mosquito EARNED the nickname "The Wooden Wonder", and it could be argued that it was the progenitor to the modern Multi-Role Fighter. Heck, with the majority of the airframe being made of wood, it could be considered the first stealth aircraft as well...

Being an avid IL2 Sturmovik fan, my choice is limited to what is available in the game. Therefore, the Yak 1B is my favourite. I find that my opponents have the same ability as the Soviets pilots in 1941, so my kill rate is high. However, I'd go for a Yak 9U any day. The VK105 variant was the best high altitude fighter of the war.

As long as it won't be generally acknowledged that the Finns successfully stopped the 1944 soviet mass attack designed to force Finland into unconditional surrender, Finland will remain an underrated fighting force of ww2. The soviet leadership said, that they would only accept unconditional surrender from the Finns at the beginning of the attack and after it was stopped and the front remained largely static for 2 months and the Finns never got close to running out of resources, Stalin gave up and accepted a peace deal with the Finns. This was even better performance for a longer duration from the Finns than in the Winter war since the soviet attack was even more massive than in 1939 and it was much more thoroughly stopped, yet it is not well known about. After that, the Finns went on to kick the nazis out of Lapland. They are still underrated and I will keep reminding of this under every video that mentions the Continuation war.

The Soviets should've taken the next step and from the LA 7 developed a slim bodied heavy fighter with an 18 cylinder radial engine in a tight fitting engine compartment using the Foch Wolf 190 cooling system. Could've been equivalent to the Corsair or Sea Fury

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anthony_Fokker moved to the US in 1928 and was personally more involved with his American manufacturer Atlantic Aircraft Corporation which in the 20's was the world's leading airliner manufacturer than the development of the DXXI in his Dutch affiliate. With the Crash he lost control of his American company and General Motors folded it into General Aviation Corp. which in turn morphed into something that you have heard of, North American Aviation famous for the P-51 and F-86 Sabre (currently a part of Boeing having nothing to do with door plugs) . Fokker died in 39 in New York, NY due to pneumococcal meningitis, a deadly disease now well controlled with penicillin which was not available in 30's.

in warthunder My favorite planes are Italian warplanes. I reached the final level in all countries. italian c202ec, C205, my favorite planes G55 Settero 4 machine gun is very ineffective. When the G55 Settero 1 20mm gun hits, the target falls. G55 has 2 machine guns and 3 cannons. There are 20mm 650 grains. G55S has only 3 20mm guns. My favorite plane in Warthunder is the Premium G55s, the green plane. bf-109 has 470 grains of 20mm. There are 650 G55s. fw-190 can't turn very well. g55s spins very well.

Pokryshkin already at the beginning of July 1941 lost his first, but not his last, plane, and in the fall of the same year another one. And this is only from his words, which I am inclined not to trust, because the All-Union Soviets lied very often in their memories of that war.
