When I found out about this remake I wondered to what degree it happened because of how successful Undertale, a game that clearly drew inspiration from the OG Live A Live, was. The new final battle being Undertale As Fuck makes me think it probably was because of that.

I was glad to see Oersted again in Octopath traveler and see his happy ending. But when I listen to the song "Megalomania" made me understand that The hate has never gone away in 30 years either. And ODIO is negative energy that is immortal, able to return in all times and all dimensions. He is one of the greatest bosses that Square Soft has produced.

The only thing that would have made this boss even better than it already was (at least in my opinion), was to make it so that you can actually LOSE during the fight. Other than that little nitpick, I can see no better way to end the finale of Live A Live.

in the original there was an armageddon ending. When you control Orsted and you beat all others characters you can use armageddon and it just destroys all timelines and the game end. It is a different ending from oersted just beating all characters

You do not need to have two separate songs to be composed by the same composer in order for a mash up to work. What you need to make it easier is for is for the two songs to share the same genre and style. E.I. the mash-up of Last Battle and Megalovania that I just posted above. Music is very mathematical in how it functions. So two songs of similar genre and style can be brought together. In fact, due to the mathematical nature of music composition, you can even bring together two songs from completely different genres together, then change their genre and style, like for example, "don't stand so close to me / young girl" from Glee.

What's interesting about this piece is that in this context it really shows how Shimomura has changed over the years. Like in "Pure Odio", I can catch glimpses of her final boss theme in Super Mario RPG to show she had a similar motif back in the 90s. By comparison, although it seems like this song was intended to be a more epic variation on "Megalomania", it comes off as a song that would be much more at home as a final boss theme in a Kingdom Hearts game.

You can say the everyone in the development team has changed as new well, especially the director Tokita. Live a Live back then has many similarity with Final Fantasy IV - his other game about how hatred ruins a person and there is little no redemtion if you go down that path. However, this battle showed that even the Lord of Dark has hope, that he can at least do one right thing after centuries of loathing and anger, which I find it really beautiful !

Akira with Judgment Day crippled this boss into the ground with a dozen statuses, and thanks to him, Sundown Kid tore this boss to shreds with Hurricane! Why do people underestimate Akira?

He is not underestimated as mich as he is not well-liked. Nevermind the fact that it's always a competition between him and Cube, the fact he stole what little money his caretaker has didn't bode well with a lot of people, especially the ones who played the SNES ine because instead, Akira just steals his caretaker's panties, which, while still weird, actually won't cause her to worry about money in the future. And his chapter's crafting mechanic has been unchanged from the SNES one. I see his advantages, but Sundown Kid did deal 999 DMG with Masaru's help anyways. It's more so that everyone is able in some way that people pick by their preferences, and not a particular meta (aside from having a healer in the party to help or have a fuckton of balmgrass) that first-timers won't pick Akira.
