Going with GoFoil for the simple options like you mentioned. Armstrong too many & price so I skipped it.

Can the hole be filled with solarez instea of jb weld?
@JasonLeeCalifornia
@JasonLeeCalifornia 7 ай бұрын
I wouldn't recommend it. The weld seems to work the best and is much harder which is why it can be tapped.

I have old FCS1 finplugs and i just drilled new holes on the opposite side with a 4 millimeter drill. It worked out fine and I can tighten the screws again. So no need to buy jb weld or something similar... I don´t know yet if the new holes will pull water but I did the repair job on my riverboard which is pretty destroyed already anyway so I thought its worth a try.

I will never understand why designers would put a spike on the trailing edge of the fusalage? it must improve performance but that spike imposes an unnecessary danger IMO.

The entire thing is dangerous. Some wings are super to sharp too. I have been able to cut paper with the back of tail wings. Some guys like to sand them down a bit so they aren't as sharp....

@JasonLeeCalifornia

Unfortunately, everything is setup for the right hand. It would be a bit awkard but you could possibly mount the camera 180 degrees so it's basically on the left side....

Have you done any downwingers with the board? Interested in it for light wind ability with higher aspect foils, though worried might be giving up ease of pumping with wing luffed, any other downsides?

Hello! This season I have strictly focused on downwind SUP foil but the bullet would be my number one choice for downwingers. Hopefully we get some wind again and I can take it out!

What type of water start do you do when using your Fusion? Are your feet strapped in?
@JasonLeeCalifornia
@JasonLeeCalifornia Жыл бұрын
Depends on the wind. If it's light I just straddle it then do a knee start. Then get in the straps and start working the wing. If it's nuking it's super easy to go from knees to standing, the wing practically lifts you up. In the video it's way too choppy for me to go straight in the straps. I needed to plane first then get into the straps.

It’s pretty low. Some guys are still going but you will definitely be surprised on how low it is compared to this video. If you rig big and can jam upwind on a windy day you can make it close to the dam where there is some room.

I'm not sure it would work, but instead of using Epoxy, wouldn't be possible to "melt" some white plastic (lets say...pvc bottle caps?) into the fin screw hole and them proceed with the drilling? Or wouldn't it attach to the hole?
@JasonLeeCalifornia
@JasonLeeCalifornia Жыл бұрын
It’s possible. Just don’t inhale the fumes of melted PVC! Worst case you can always drill it back out. However, you don’t want risk melting part of the board if the plastic is too hot.
@quimlima
@quimlima Жыл бұрын
@@JasonLeeCalifornia Thanks. I tried some Regular Epoxy (not the naval type, but the one with two-tubes ready to mix) on a future fins box but, for me, it didn't worked. Haven't tried the melted PVC yet. I fixed it by getting a wider screw and carving new threads.
@JasonLeeCalifornia
@JasonLeeCalifornia Жыл бұрын
@@quimlima Yeah, that's the easier solution is to size up in threads. JB weld is actually better for this than epoxy. Epoxy probably cracked but glad you are up and riding!
