I don't know why, but I liked Leith so much when being in Edinburgh. I even have a cup with Leith picture. I like music in your video.

Lived in the fort 1953. My father was a proud Scotsman and a soldier. My school was just around the corner ( if my memory serves me well) .....now I'm 77 time flies.😊

The old Fort school maybe? It was used as a youth centre 1980's. I hired a room for kickboxing training at 12 pence a night. Great times. I still have a photo image someone took of the class room with my kick bags hanging. Blackboard in the back ground. I signed up for the royal Scots 1985 served 12 years. Was your dad in the Artillery 1950's?

Makes me so sad I had a wonderful childhood here, the history is incredible, it should still be here. Hey look at the Banana Flats they're still here 😮

Yeah I had to sprint through going to Trinity Academy each morning. It was more scary at night. It was a tough place to live in the 80's. Still miss it.

Hi, planning on riding this route in April with family. Could I ask where you left your car for the four days and was there a fee? Thanks and great vid.
@tomharlow23752 жыл бұрын
Fort Augustus. Just north of village hall. Free parking but not after 24hrs if I remember. We checked with the police station there and he was very helpful. Said no problems there I'll make sure your car is okay. Ask at police station to be safe.

I used to kick around the shore and junction street when I was younger - never went near the Fort as it had such a wild reputation, used to call it bandit country. I have no idea if the reputation was well earned but if even a fraction of the stories are true then it would have been pretty mental place to live.

Yip Bandit country...had to run through it week days to Trinity Academy. Always had to watch your six.

Did you take the road on the quieter side of Loch Ness? There didn't seem to be much trail in the footage on that side
@tomharlow23752 жыл бұрын
No trail on the east side. Mostly B road. Was busy with traffic September.

I don't see anything wrong with those flats? I think with a small overhaul they would be lovely.

New housing built couple of years ago is good. Just a shame they took down some of the historical wall.
@deeppurple8832 жыл бұрын
Ya, with a bulldozer. House's are the best for family's. Greed has forced people to live in these monstrosities. The building trade made it impossible for loca authorities to build house's because of price's. Instead they directed these councils to these. The same thing has happened again, this time with apartments.The Same everything, just a new generation. The community always get screwed, they have to deal with the end results and we know how that goes. Same here in Dublin Ireland, a shared history. 🇮🇪✊🏴.

There’s not a problem with the housing. It’s the head bangers that live in them. There’s always going to be the crack heads kicking around. Spoil it everyone eles.
