Ok so if I put the little oil standpipe piece in the wrong hole port will the a truck still start
@CrookedMustacheКүн бұрын
The research I did led me to the conclusion that the Oil rails themselves are interchangeable left to right. But not neccesarily the standpipe location. For ex. The oil rail itself could feed oil pressure to the injectors from either port but thats assumming the cylinder head supplies oil pressure at both at both port locations. All the teardowns I've seen position the stand pipe at the rear of the engine closest to the firewall. I have no idea the pressure of the oil coming from that port. I would swap them back.

Put a little grease on the rubber of the ball joint before pressing it in. I think this will help prevent snags. This is what I did and had no issues. I used the same ball joint kit as you.

This does two things. It makes it perform a lot better, yes, but what it does most of all is it removes the stress of stop and go from the belt so it'll last a lot longer, making the transmission more reliable.

For what it’s worth SOLOWERKS are THE budget set to get in the euro car world. I just picked up a set for my b8 S4 so let’s hope everybody isn’t lying lol
@CrookedMustacheАй бұрын
I chose Solowerks to replace the worn ST kit for very specific reasons. I’ll note that the ride quality has been better than I expected for such an inexpensive kit. 1. The entire SoloWerks kit was the cost just replacing the worn front struts from ST. 2. It was half the cost of a new complete ST kit 3. I didn’t want to return the car to stock. Lastly The ST kit last nearly 50k miles thanks to the records from the previous owner. If these last half that I’ll consider them a stop gap.
@luislozano1513Ай бұрын
@@CrookedMustache honestly same here. I’m on Bilstein struts with lowering springs. Not sure how many miles on the set but I bought my car with them already on at 129k miles and I’m now at 195k. Would like to eventually go to air but I also wanted to get spherical mounts that are $$$ and I got this kit for $425 for Black Friday. So this should run better than the totally worn bilstein struts and as long as I can get ~20k miles then that’ll be a win.

DO WE REPLACE VALVE COVER GASGET?
@CrookedMustacheАй бұрын
@dennismann9764 glaringly obvious in hindsight 😳, yes if your valve covers have never been removed replace the gaskets. These were less than 6 months old or so as another injector had been replaced earlier in the year and I didn’t include it in the list since I didn’t order the parts 🤦🏻♂️

How much torque to turn crank shaft? My dtrs timing skipped and nothing wants to turn. Any advise?
@CrookedMustacheАй бұрын
Sounds like it seized or something impacted. It shouldn’t take an enormous amount of torque, our engine had a rod fail internally so it wouldn’t complete a full rotation in either direction. Had to rotate back and forth when it came time to unbolt the flex plate from the transmission.

Yeah, brilliant.....and then a month later it looks worse than when you started. Buy 'Solution Finish' and apply it to the plastic. The damage was caused by heat and excessive prolonged exposure to UV-light. This heat gun technique will just bring what little moisture there is left in the plastic to the surface temporarily. You can thank me later by paying it forward to others on the next moronic tutorial like this.

You’re probably the only person to be excited for a 6.0 powerstroke. Unless it’s already bulletproofed that’s just a ticking time bomb. I would get it running and sell it and then buy any year 7.3 diesel.

Nothing wrong with a 6.0 Aslong as you keep up on maintenance and don’t tune them and delete them soon as you tune them you need studs

I haven’t found them too stiff, unless the ride has just deteriorated that badly on the previous setup and these just feel that much better by comparison

It works, but it's only temporary. The polish gives it a smooth, clear appearance, but the plastic is still messed up underneath. Once the polish wears off (3 or 4 months maybe?), you're back to where you started. For headlights that bad, you might as well sand it down and apply a UV protectant. It's a little more work, but then you're good for 3 or 4 years. When the clearcoat gets that bad, you're pretty much just polishing a turd. 😄

I used it on my '12 4Runner. Somehow the lower half of my headlights was still in good shape and the tops needed some ❤. So I masked off the lower parts and applied Mothers Mag & Aluminum... worked great. I have been watching videos...one guy used Mothers...then he used a sanding method on one light....dude wasted so much time & effort on the sanded one & it was inferior. 😂
