For over 30 years I have been studying eyes and vision at the Eye Disease Institute of the Russian Academy of Sciences combined with the Department of Eye Diseases at the Sechenov 1st Moscow Medical University, serving in recent years as a leading specialist. I have extensively worked on eye surgery and training eye doctors, research projects related to eye surgery, new treatment, diagnostic methods, and instruments in ophthalmology. In parallel, I assisted my friends-vets in performing eye surgeries on animals. My PhD thesis focused on the surgical treatment of cataracts after injuries, while my doctoral dissertation covered the pathogenesis and surgical treatment of refractory (most complex) forms of glaucoma. On the "Eye Care Explained" channel, I will discuss eye diseases, diagnostics and treatment methods in ophthalmology; how to protect your eyes and reduce eye strain, as well as the peculiarities of human and animal vision.
