We’ll talk about their wages because it’s a federally protected right to do so. Companies act like it’s such a bad thing to keep them accountable.

Hi. I think your video is a great example of the GROW model. Especially being a shorter video. You're able to hit all the points in a concise manner. Great job! I would like to ask your permission if we can use your video for educational/training purposes for a training program that we are running. The video would be for internal employee use only and would not be used for monetization.

"Pay compression" is a clinical term meant to dilute the fact that employers will take advantage of their employees for as long as they possibly can. That is fair, but you better be aware of the cost of turnover and productivity is going to be. If it isn't "in the budget", you better damn well adjust your expectations on how much productivity you expect out of them.

If by win in life you mean slave away till you die for crumbs of rich people only to be completely dispensable at the whim of a rich pricks and dick suckn managers than no thats not winning. The problem is that hustle culture suggests a win loose mentality but thats just not a good way to live my man.

Absolutely. I think we would all agree money is the biggest motivator, and outside of that, these things Ken shares are top motivators.

My company usually had 4 day work weeks. I gave my guys the option to push through and work a little longer days, or work Fridays, it was up to them. Saved me money so i didn't care. Middle of july through August when it was hot as hell, they usually choose to work Friday. Otherwise they would be so exhausted they couldn't do anything on their day off anyway. It depends on the business. A company could switch to half weeks and hire twice as many people too. There's lots of cost benefits to that over paying full time. That would royally suck for them because what people really want is to work for days and get paid for 5. My local school district switched to 4 Day school weeks, so they're training this thought from childhood. Now they have a short summer break along with all the others. Of course they complain about that too. Just can't win. Don't like your job? Then do something else. Don't demand your company to bend over and do as you say. That's just not how it works. We have such a good life compared to any time in history. We have it so easy, and yet we're miserable. It's not work doing this, it's a total lack of values and family life

We need a new way to paraphrase without starting every comment with the word …SO. “ It sounds like “ is over used too . Use some other “stems “ , for example .. “I’m hearing”, “if I understand you correctly” “to summarise” , “your main reaction is.” There are many others .

I would answer: Your feelings is your responsibility, I'm not your mummy poor interrupted child. What stopped you from letting me know about the issue right there on the spot instead of telling me this sugar-coated s*hit when I already forgot about the exact details of the situation and there is nothing to discuss actually. (In Russia we say "Проехали" = it's water under the bridge) This is soooo toxic. The woman (who is being accused) is being blindsided and embarrassed by this nasty postponed attack and swallows all this stuff in the guise of being nice. The show goes on and on. Nothing was resolved.

I manage a local guitar shop, and one of our guys is not doing well. I've taken him to the ER and the police have taken him to the ER, but the hospital repeatedly refuses to take him. According to Michigan policy, repeatly endangering your life with substance abuse doesn't count as being at risk of self harm I'm watching this poor kid crash and burn, as he slips through the wide gaps in the civil safety net. He has no support other than us as his employer. I'm scouring the internet for resources and information on how to best help this guy, and I'm devastated by the lack of content of this topic. It shows that business isn't invested in helping employees in crisis. This is such a cold, dark, indifferent world. This kid is going to die at the rate he's at, and I can't find any ways to actually get him committed unless he threatens someone else's life. I'm not just going to lose an employee, the planet is going to lose a life.

Employee fulfillment, nobody creates new concepts like HR when the recurrent ones don't work. Change the phrase so no one notices how little EE/EX generated in terms of results. So let's try this, where has anyone initiated the "employee fulfillment" theory that resulted in any meaningful improvement of business metrics. As long as the EE/EX and now EF remains an HR responsibility, changing the name will have no impact. The biggest problem causing the worldwide failure in EE/EX transformations is that HR cannot force change on disinterested leadership. It really is that simple. How long would the CHRO/CPO have a career if every time a fellow officer refused to change and the CHRO/CPO escalated the discussion to the CEO? So, here's the test for employee fulfillment. Can you base your fees on the business metrics improvement from an EF initiative? Employee fulfillment will suffer the same failure as all the previous labels until you can take it from HR's hands. Here's an example of doing it right, we only labeled the project to call it an earnings improvement. Hundreds of policies were killed or altered, a few corporate bullies were sent home, whole departments were eliminated, and changes were made and announced daily. We spend 10 weeks with the employees, helping them answer the CEO's survey question. "what are the ten dumbest things we do here?" We collected the data, and whenever someone tried to block a valid employee's suggestion, even an officer, we took the debate to the CEO. It has been a while since anyone in 25 years. The employees always had a different label for the ten dumbest things; they refer to it as "the bullshit that drives us nuts. Changing the label will not make a difference. This was done with 75% of our fees based on the impact on the income statement. There are already too many meaningless buzzwords. chiefexecutive.net/employee-engagement-ceos-actually-listening/
