I'm into the mk3, and working on these cars ain't no 5 minute job. I have spent so much time getting these cars to look the business. Bus it's all worth it from reactions out on the road... When finished.

.....................Kudos to you for maintaining this vehicle I have two cars benz w 115 and 123 Both vehicles do not run very badly The w 115 car was the official car used by the world’s first prime minister My dream is to get those 2 cars running It is not easy The politicians of sri lanka have stolen the national economy and the whole country is in debt to the world The country is now being run by IMF and world aid Everything is taxed Just breathing is not taxed I have seen benz cars abandoned in some countries which are in the best condition Both my cars have about 60% damage to the bumper Recovery is difficult If you have the body of the w 115 or 123 cars in you possession, I would be grateful if you could provide me with the body of those cars. Also, if there is any possibility to help me in making these two cars, I would be grateful Sorry if there was a mistake…… I am also a person who loves benz cars…………………

This used to belong to my late grandfather William Dolling as signwritten on the side of the van. My grandfather did the complete original restoration on the van and I have lots of photos of his restoration years ago. I would really love to have the current owner get in touch and maybe I could pass all this on to them. I have to admit that I would love to see it again at some time. It holds very dear memories to me, my grandfather and I were extremely close, unfortunately we lost him in 2019.

Hi Jake, thanks for the comment & for a little of the history on this Standard van. If you can email us through our website then I can certainly pass on your details. We haven't seen the van since it left us over six years ago now as it was residing a fair distance away from us so I don't know if it is still with the Gentleman that owned it at the time. Thanks again.

What a boring video. No explanation as to how the work was done. Just irritating music and had to stop it. At least go into detail as to how you made parts. Or even bought them. At least Make the video interesting to watch.
@thomaseaves75672 жыл бұрын
The real reason why people bought these cars back in the day was because you could drive them on a motorcycle licence, my dad had one, god bless him, as a child I was super embarrassed to be seen in it, but would love to own one now for the nostalgia value. My dad di eventually pass his driving test in the late 70s……in wait for it a fork lift truck which then allowed him to drive any car …..so scary

Except for the rims and the steering being on the wrong side, that Capri looks exactly like the one my father used to bring me and my mom back from the hospital. Maybe that's why I have such a soft-spot for this car. Still some of the sexiest lines on any car, ever.

My 500SL had similar body work issues, all replaced with new metal inc bulkhead. For those wondering a resto like this would be around £30k. Good job on this one. I would have gone the whole way with the facelift 86-89 look and kept the other wheels.

Great video. Thanks so much. Is the car still considered a genuine classic car if it is completely rebuilt like this? Is it literally possible to make a 350sl that's as attractive and works as well as as a brand new one? Thanks!

I’m interested in getting someone to restore a ‘86 sl 560, that in a similarly bad condition. Would you be able to estimate what costs should I expect? Asuming the engine runs once the electrical part, which had a meltdown at some point. It’s also a hard too. An estimated cost based on what the one you presented would me very much appreciated!

Hi, if you'd like to drop us an email or give us a call then we can discuss it with you; we don't give quotations or estimates on KZbin I'm afraid.

Hello - can you tell me: 1. Do you have the facility to 'dip' cars onsite and if not can you tell me who you used? 2. Did you do all the metal fabrication and welding yourselves? 3. Do you prep and paint cars your selves? It is quite a hard to find any shop prepared to take on that level of restoration - it is an eyewateringly expensive and time consuming job to undertake. Mike
@midbedsvehiclerestoration30454 жыл бұрын
Hi Mike, the shell was sent away for dipping but we did all the metal fabrication onsite as well as paint the cars. It was a big project but if you check out our Facebook page you'll see that major restoration is fairly regular work for us on many different marques.
