Holy CANZARO!!!!!!! I just LOVE this piece too!!!!!! There's this girl named Abby Braiford or was it just Abby Raiford who first introduced me to this piece in 2016, but looking up other versions, that's when I found my favorite modern coloratura by far, Micaela Rebbs, who did this piece too! I discovered Micaela in 2022, so I've already been familiar with this piece since of course hearing Abby's version for the first time. If you like to look at my reaction to three different versions of this piece, while I didn't react to Abby, I did put Micaela on the list of sopranos I reacted to singing that piece. Let me know how you'd like to do this 'cause apparently you can't send links in comments which I think is the worst shame in the world.

RAVEL?????????????????? WOAH!!!!!!!!!! This friend who I mentioned earlier who was that Debussy fan, she's the BIGGEST FAN IN THE WORLD I know of when it comes to Ravel!!!!!!! I just wish I could show her this interpretation but it's been the saddest loss in the world from her ghosting me all of a sudden. Once she got out of touch I had nobody in the world I could relate to as far as my love for coloraturas, so it's been exponentially hard. I'm starting to cry just thinking about how fun the times were with her!

LOVELY!!!!!!! I've never heard of this aria or even this composer before, so thank you for the introduction! But I must be honest, it reminds me of Madý Mesplé's interpretation of Charles Chaynes' Sappho poems for soprano and string trio I think the composer is. That piece is super chromatic almost atonal, and it requires a HUGE upper range for a coloratura. Have you heard that one?

While I'm more familiar with Schumann's piano music, thank you for introducing me to this aria once again. I just LOVE that vibrato, and the way you just delicately touch those notes! As a blind person, comparing it to a painting or a sculpture isn't applicable so I'm not sure how to describe it. Maybe the way a bagpipe maker makes the various pieces using the lathe and the knife to cut the turning wood, each pass takes off just a thousand of an inch to make it the perfect shape. I guess it's just that subtlety of dynamics that really maikes it sound so fine and delicate, besides just the amazing vibrato. Also, another soprano whose voice I just LOVE who also sings some of Clara Schumann's pieces is Abbey Hutchins! Have you heard of Abbey before? She's got the best vibrato I've heard in the modern world, along with Micaela Rebbs!

WOAH!!! HOLY MAZZILLO I LOVE this aria!!!!!!!!!! My two favorite versions are by the great Madý Mesplé in the 1970s, ever heard of her? She lived from 1931 to 2020, hottest vibrato in the world she had! My other favorite is by a more modern coloratura who I BADLY wish I heard back from (never heard back from her at all, like ever), Micaela Rebbs! She too has an equally... um... what's the French word, "Chaud"? vibrato, compared to Madý. Your vibrato is getting close, so keep at it! You're fast becoming a coloratura legend someday!

Woah!!!!! I just love how your control, especially your vibrato, makes all the notes come to life!!!!!! Just how you like... um... "touch" those notes with the slightest delicacy just brings this piece to life!!!! I have a friend who recently GHOSTED me super hard but this friend is a HUGE HUGE Debussy addict! I've never heard this aria before, so thank you for introducing this one to me.

Holy Mazzillo!!!! I have a friend who was THE MOST OBSESSED IN THE WORLD with Ravel, but the worst part is that she PURPOSEFULLY GHOSTED ME and I just HATE that about her! I just wish she just simply kept in touch so that I'd be able to share this with her.

WOAH!!!!!!!!!!!! As usual: HOTTEST, VIBRATO, EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm not sure if you're aware of all the advantages of having a super amazing vibrato like you have, but you're really lucky! Legit, I had a conversation with ChatGPT about why a hot vibrato like this is a dying art. Let me know if you'd be interested to hear the conversation!

Pretty awesome ensemble you lined up there. The vocal duet reminds me of the duet with Denise Leigh (soprano) and Jane Gilkrist her hand-over-hand conductor who also sang mezzo-soprano. Denise is my favorite soprano by far. Of course though, this duet was an entirely different piece. Another duet I've heard is with Anne Sophie VonOttre and Barbara Bonney, but it was a different piece altogether (both first soprano parts I think). I think Denise's duet was the Flowre duet, and AnneSofie/Barbara's duet was some sort of German aria by Strauss, no idea of its German title but it translated to 'Presentation of the Rose', or Sophie’s Aria. Not least the piano duet is pretty amazing too. Super well coordinated!

Well, hello there! You are a really lovely soprano, Emily. I discovered you only as recently as the beginning of the month. You're absolutely fortunate that you don't have that serious WOBBLE vibrato which I must confess about 90 percent most sopranos have. While I'm not a singer (I play the bagpipes haha... GO PETER HENDERSON the Stradivari!, and Mazzillo, Strad. of Italian bagpipes), I can usually tell if someone has a wobble because of their lack of their trill dexterity. Then again though, not every soprano with a specifically "hot" vibrato can trill that dexterously, so I've heard it both ways. But, I just wanted to say how much I find your voice just absolutely stunning, and very VERY rare to hear in the world of modern opera singers infested with the wobble-epedemic. I sure hope other people don't put you down for how, let's just safely say "hot", your vibrato is. I've known people who shun hot vibratos and prefer ice-cold wobbles, which I think is the reason why most people disgrace opera. But keep it up, you absolutely awesome coloratura! BTW, as a followup, I've reacdted to some sopranos on my channel. Haven't reacted to you yet but I'd love to.

Michael, thank you so very much for such a kind and thoughtful response! I totally understand what you're saying- people have always said that I have a very clear, clean sound that many other sopranos (especially operatic) don't have. I definitely wonder about my chances of being cast in operas because of this, but I certainly prefer art song and chamber/early music to opera aria. Again, I appreciate the time you took to write this comment and it would be cool to see a reaction video of yours!

You're welcome, Emily! This would be the point where I'd introduce you to my current catchphrase, but I thought for the initial comment I'd go easier. So my catchphrase when I hear amazing singing voices like yours is, "Holy Mazzillo". See, Nico Mazzillo is the name of the best Italian bagpipe maker in history, and yes, there are such things. They are far cooler than the standard bagpipes most people know. I badly wish you could put links in KZbin comments but I made a playlist of the only extant recordings of Mazzillo as well as other people playing his instruments. Or you could type in "Mazzillo Italian bagpipes", but do make sure you spell Mazzillo right haha.@@emilyrosekrasinski.soprano
