When anybody mentions skiing nowadays franz klammer is always talked about

Description says "staying completely in control" which is incorrect. It should read "unbelievably, barely staying on top of his skis." Alas, recent Olympics have given us far too few moments like this one, the US hockey gold in 1980, etc. Kristen Faulkner winning the women's road race in Paris was similar but not in a discipline that gets nearly the attention it should.

That run in 1976 was the most thrilling thing I have ever saw in sports history. I was 26 years old in 1976. The Closest thing to that rivals it, is the Last 5 minutes of the Miracle on Ice hockey game in 1980 Olympics with the Soviet Union despitely trying to score against the College Hockey players on team USA......

I can absolutely not blame him for wanting back on the skis ASAP, despite his many injuries. I'm an avid recreational skier. I have the app ski-tracks on my phone. It tracks your speed (max-speed, average speed etc). My record so far is 90 km/h; these guys go 140 km/h or more. The rush you get when flying down the slopes is an absolute thrill. The dopamine and adrenalin rush is better than you ever can imagine. It's like a drug, like an addiction.

I was 18 in 1976 and also watched this live. At that point I’d never skied, but still realized what a spectacular achievement this was. I’d differ a bit with the concluding narrative of this video however: he was nowhere near in “complete control”. He was right on the edge of control most of the way down. Fabulous!

Pero no entiendo,... Estos atletas de Ski,,,NO TIENEN CUERPO DE ATLETA ( COMO LOS DE CARRERS DE 100 METROS )....UNA CAIDA A 100KILOMETROS X HORAS ...Y SE SACAN LA MIERDA...Y EL CUERPO TU LOS VWZ TODOS AGUAITOS... es vez de estar rigidos llenos de musculos. .
