Can this cause pitting or cracking in older brass instruments?
@ultrasonicpowercorp Жыл бұрын
Yes it can cause pitting or cracking if used improperly.

@@ultrasonicpowercorp Thank you. I recently had an older French horn cleaned and a brace had to be resoldered. It seemed like the solder was degraded. Wonder if that was a cause
@JustAnOldMan Жыл бұрын
looked like the only places it was cleaning was inside the tubes to get the years of spit out of it, didn't appear to be cleaning the actual horns outside
@ultrasonicpowercorp Жыл бұрын
Hi Tom, The inside is definitely the most difficult part to clean, which is why ultrasonics are so common in instrument cleaning. The outside is being cleaned as well but might not be as noticeable as many people wipe down instruments.

How hot do you get the water?
@ultrasonicpowercorp Жыл бұрын
Hi James, It is best to start at a lower temperature and work your way up to not damage the club. 110 °F should be safe for most steel clubs.

To piggyback off the below question, our cleaning application would be similar - ceramic filter to filter diesel exhaust gases. I know cavitation is effective for soot, BUT does it help break down hardening ash? Basically I'm wondering if this is effective for cleaning Diesel Particulate Filters on tractor trailers.
@ultrasonicpowercorp Жыл бұрын
Hi Sam, DPF filter cleaning using ultrasonics has become a lot more common. If you ever want to send in a filter for a free test cleaning, we have a form on our website. www.upcorp.com/parts-testing/

Interesting to see the weapon slide being ultrasonically cleaned as a unit without detail stripping. Even though you have ultrasonically bathed the slide in heated water dispersing oil, I would worry about avoiding rust from water remaining in the slide internals. How many slides have you cleaned this way and have you seen a detail strip and check for internal rust ? Thanks for the interesting video.

@tungsten82905 жыл бұрын
It will, but may not remove tarnish on a silver plated horn. If you bring it to a shop for the work, chances are that they will polish it for you after giving it the noisy bath.

The unit wont do anything to your skin. I used to use one at an electronics company and would stick my hands inside all the time cause it felt funny. Kinda feels like its shocking you but not as hard. I only did it when it was empty.

Very cool. You can see the gunk breaking up and surfacing from the rotors. That crap is the main culprit of valves losing their compression and causing damage.
