Good to know. But I'm confused about cocoa powder or nuts. To counter oxalates, calcium intake is recommended. But cocoa and nuts as high in oxalates are on naughty list, whereas they include calcium. So should these two not be safe complementing oxelates with calcium in one product?
@DiTuroProductions20 сағат бұрын
Whether a food is high or low in oxalate and safe for people on low oxalate diets depends on the amount consumed. One ounce (28 g) of walnuts has 13 mg of calcium 30 mg of oxalate. Cocoa powder has an even higher ratio of oxalate to calcium. The RDA for calcium is 1,000 to 1,200 mg. Most of your calcium should come from other foods.

Pretty sure no one was using Stainless Steel cookware in the 1960s. Aluminum and cast iron were king in North America and in Europe it would have been carbon steel not stainless.
@DiTuroProductions4 күн бұрын
Single-ply stainless steel cookware was introduced in the 1930's and multi-ply in the 1960's. Aluminum, cast iron and enameled carbon steel were also common.

This was an excellent video. IMO, manganese deficiency isn't rare since most people have such a poor diet. Being deficient compared to not having any manganese are very different situations. Plenty of people have weak bones, tinnitus, loss of balance, hearing loss, insomnia, and more, and I doubt that doctors are checking their manganese levels. I am not saying you are wrong but I think the RDA and research is wrong. We overlook trace minerals and are often told that we get enough from our diet when doctors have little clue to what people are actually eating. I bet that most elderly people are manganese deficient, sadly. Thank you for sharing the importance of manganese, as more people would benefit from learning how important it is to our health.
@DiTuroProductions14 күн бұрын
Thank you for the compliment and sharing your thoughts. RDAs are for healthy adults and most doctors do not routinely check manganese levels unless they suspect a deficiency. People eating diets high in processed foods can have more than one nutrient deficiency. Most processed foods are low manganese foods.

OK, then this kind of sugar is healthier than regular sugar and the glycemic charge on the liver is decreasing almost by 50%. That means the liver can rest a little bit and this helps all others guts and organs functions. Thank you so much for this info!!!
@DiTuroProductions14 күн бұрын
Sugar alcohols reduce insulin production by the pancreas and are not processed by the liver like sugars. There is controversy about the safety of sugar alcohols. Most are safe consumed in moderation. Thank you for your comment.

Temperature is the approximate temperature between the cooktop and cookware bottom. Power is the number of watts used to generate the induction field.

I'll be good, I eat this everyday, and my BP is 140/90, and this is also good. Mind you, dear sheeple, the FDA changed the value years ago down to 120/80. Why? So the Pharma Mafia could push more pills on you, lol! 😋
@DiTuroProductionsАй бұрын
The guideline of 120/80 is by the American College of Cardiology and the American Heart Association not the FDA. The first line of treatment for slightly elevated blood pressure is diet and lifestyle changes not pills. A calibrated home blood pressure monitor is a better indicator than a doctor's measurement. Most doctors do not accurately check blood pressure resulting in elevated measurements.

@DiTuroProductions As an update to this comment. Steel cut oats contain phytic acid which can affect nutrients levels. Cooking the oatmeal in a pressure cooker, reduces this.
@DiTuroProductionsАй бұрын
All oats have phytic acid that can reduce iron and zinc absorption. A balanced diet should provide more iron and zinc than the body needs. Thanks for the update.

When one applies the term “processing” when describing the types, respectively. What might all the resulting differences be and potential impacts in nutrition etc between each type?
@DiTuroProductionsАй бұрын
It depends on how the oats are processed. Minimally processed oats have about same nutritional values. Check nutrition labels to compare products.

You mean "soluable oxalates does NOT bind to calcium." But its the one that can turn into a kidney stone. But to reduce risk, stay hydrated so that the body flushes out the oxalates. It's the insoluable oxalate that binds to calcium. It can reduce the calcium in the body.
@DiTuroProductionsАй бұрын
According to my sources, it is the opposite.

I love your video! I have a question, though. My sister has a portable induction cooker and cannot get the power low enough for her pressure cooker or to simmer things. She’s in Thailand and has a Philips cooker. She’s been putting cardboard between the pan and cook surface, but she said it’s still a little too hot. Do you have any ideas? Is there a plug she can put between the wall outlet and the cooker plug to lower the wattage?
@DiTuroProductions2 ай бұрын
Thank you for the compliment. Your sister's situation is unusual. The cooker's power adjustment may be defective. I am not aware of any device to reduce power like a bulb dimmer switch, but she can try using a thick induction plate adapter. They are normally used with aluminum cookware. It may reduce the induction field in the pressure cooker.

This is unusual. I almost never see a video about GMO food that isn't full of nonsense. I was especially impressed on how DiTuro exposed the sham of the no-GMO Project verified icon on food products that are not available as GMO. My own favorite example is olive oil, whose only ingredient is olives, and there are no GMO olives, so when the consumer who, for whatever reason, wise or not, wants to avoid a GMO olive oil, the icon does him no good, and may lead him to buy a brand that has the icon, for a quality that is the same for all brands. I think it would be worth adding one other piece of information. Many products that use GMO ingredients are actually identical to the non-GMO equivalent ingredient. For example, if it is a starch, an oil, a sugar, a vitamin, etc. it will be absolutely identical from the non-GMO sourced equivalent. I have to mention my favorite example of a stupid concern about safety. In a store catering to tourists, they were selling candles made from non-GMO wax. Does anyone in his right mind think that the gas and smoke from burning wax can be safer if the wax came from a source that was genetically modified?
@DiTuroProductions2 ай бұрын
Thank you for sharing your thoughts and experiences, Charles. As you stated GMO and non-GMO foods and vitamins are nutritionally identical. What is not revealed is the number, type and amount of pesticides used to grow GMO and non-GMO foods.

A craft foam o-ring gasket to go between the bottles mouth and the cap is a much more reliable solution. The threads of the bottle and the threads of the cap have many more areas to have failure in. It's best to keep the two surfaces of the needed seal as simple of a design as possible.
