Went to Darlington last year because my new wife had never been to a Nascar race. What a miserable boring four hours. Nascar is dead. There's a reason why they don't show the stands on TV. 20 years ago Darlington was PACKED. That was our last race. Don't even watch it on TV anymore.

Except one, the box that has American fans watching their American heros in American cars from the stands ...obviously not talking about central Americans. Nascar can't even fill their " crown jewell" events...trying to go greedily...( globally) is unsmart...which we've come to expect from nascar so there's that.

I remember that day. It was the last thing we expected to hear that morning. Talladega and the race hadn't even started. I wasn't a Davey fan, he drove Fords, that's all it took for me in those days. But I recognized that anytime, anywhere, if you were racing Davey, you better have those ducks lined up or you will be seeing his rear bumper fade away in front of you. In any competition, you are only as good as the guys you beat. Anyone who happened to beat Davey to the line, always knew they beat one of the very best ever. HoF for Davey is way overdue.
