Kinda surprised nobody in the comments pointed out, but the 2000 M Coupe is the S52 with the 3.0 and only 245 HP. The 2001 and 2002 are the s54 with the specs you mentioned in the vid

Congratulations I just finished mine .. Not really feeling the tint too much especially with that beautiful two tone interior .. I did black out my fender vents did air and BBS wheels .. planning on doing vaders as well .. awesome buy 🙌🏼

5:19 - That inner piece of the side gill is stock black plastic and was never painted at the factory. It can fade a little over 20 years, so maybe somebody painted it black? But it should be raw plastic. I had one of mine painted by a body shop that totally messed up and painted that inner section body color. That might have also happened to the prior owner, because I see you have a red one. And to fix all that, maybe they painted back over it black? I don't know, but it should be raw black plastic. Whatever you want to do from there is your choice obviously, but that's how it "should" be. Personally I would get them both black, and matching, however that can be accomplished. A while back when I bought a new one, they weren't eve that expensive, so that may still be an option as well. Cheers, and good luck.

Bless you for not drilling holes in the hatch or fenders. I'd have also just went with 3M tape and hoped for the best. It's not like that duck tail is in any real airflow, so should not experience much force at speed.

6:20 - The proper way to delete that rear wiper washer is to remove the hose line all the way up to the reservoir in the front, and install the Z3 roadster washer pump (which only has one outlet, not two like the coupe). But absolutely no one does or talks about this, and I completely understand ain't nobody (but me) got time for that. :D

The easier but similarly safe way is to leave all the hose in place, and just swap the washer pumps up front and leave the hose dry (open or capped at both ends--doesn't matter), but still in place in the car. That's maybe the way to do it for 99% of people.

1:34 - I see you're missing at least one rain channel cap. There is no part number for it (they come with the rain channels) but someone 3D prints replacements. You can find info on it in The Neo Z3 Manifesto. Search for Rain Channels in that document (hosted on the SR20 Forum).

I think there was a visitor for the sumospeed car show a weekend or so ago. I don't think he had duckbill. His is hellrot red. It's pretty bright.

@@mattmoto gotcha. It was pretty overcast when I saw it, but I know it was pretty unique! The spoiler was very similar to what you've got. I'm not too knowledgeable about the color variations (I'm a Corvette guy, but a car guy in general) but that's the first time I'd seen a Bimmer Z wagon with that type of rear treatment. I was gonna take a pic but my lady and I were on the way home from a relaxing night away so we were in zen mode! lol!
