I've never been much of a reader or writer...both put me to sleep, lol! But I do enjoy very much the creation of my journals. I also don't know what to write if I were to try but they are sure fun to make & look at. I have given a couple of them to my daughter, who does appreciate them because she knows how much time it takes since she also used to scrapbook, and just yesterday I parted with another, given to my sister. Like you said, if we give them all away, they wouldn't be appreciated as we think they should. We pour our hearts and a bit of our souls into our endeavors and it would be a shame to just give them away, so I keep them and pull them out sometimes to look through! I just found your channel and have subscribed. You have a very cute personality and your accent is to die for!!! Thanks for your time keeping us all entertained with your company and creations. I'm sure I will be using your ideas, probably while I'm watching your videos!!!

thanks for this lovely comment 🌺 It makes me feel like we are all in the same boat with junk journals :)

Beautiful booklets 😍, I love making journals for the creation of them and sell them, but I have several personal ones, full of beautiful decorated pages and hidden journaling. I use tea label questions or prompts to write about. So later when my children and grand children read the journals they get to know me better 😍😃. I love this hobby

That's a great idea! I need to find out about tea label questions or prompts, seems like very good for me! ahah!

I find it hard to think of any of your journals as "junk" journals. More like art journals -- works of art journals!
@odulcina4 күн бұрын
I agree, we need another term to replace junk journal when we use some “junk” like old papers, recycling old laces, books, envelopes, etc … but also adding new laces and printed papers …. and art journal is more artistic like adding hand-paintings or watercolour to it I think … so, we would need a new word for in between the junk journal and the art journal :)

Just became a subscriber. Love what you do with your journals. I make and sell and use them to write letters to Jesus. I also write my prayers and leave a space for when JESUS responds to my prayers and then write that down. Blessings to you . Look forward to seeing more of you creations. 🥰😍😊

Thanks for subbing! I love that you leave a space to write down when Jesus answers your prayer! that is perfect!

These are beautiful and handy to put into journals!! I use my journals for writing in daily, writing notes in it in my morning devotions, prayers as well as scriptures. I sometimes put sermon notes in but usually I use a composition notebook. I write a lot of notes so I like to keep them all in one place. I usually get at least 2 months in each. Thank you for sharing!!

I have the same experience with those who have not heard of junk journals. They wonder why we would need these special journals as opposed to a notebook from the dollar store. Trying to explain the joy of leafing through the beautiful pages, exploring the pockets, tags, etc. is lost on some.
@odulcina4 күн бұрын
just the beauty of it compared to the dollar store notebook doesn’t count? 🙈🤣

Your video generated a ton of ideas in my head. i will try not only create but also keep (even if with one sentence only here and there) JJ for 2025. if i can succeed with that i am sure i will be ok with other themed JJs. for now, already for a second month i am enjoying putting together and decorating a pink journal for my granddaughter. now sure how i will be able to part with it when she will ask to give it finally to her. :) So far we use this journal to keep in its pockets paper dolls with dresses and also parts of dolls (heads, bodies, hats, etc.) that I ask her to assemble together and complete with doodling in a wonky collage image. She likes these activities. Even my 3 year-old grandson I think already ready for his own JJ where he can decorate cutouts of, say, cars.

This is exactly how it works … you watch a video and the head starts generating tons of ideas :) I am so glad it did that for you. :)

Well, some of my junk journals I gift to very dear people but most of them I keep to myself. Not that I have done many of them by now. In 2024 I’ve been starting my first big fat calender journal which I adorn bit by bit or month by month with gems and scraps of what is dear and/or important to me like admission tickets, business cards, flight tickets, photos, restaurant bills and so on. It’s all about memories. In ten years or most likely less I’ll flip through them and enjoy myself, lost on memory lane. The most interesting thing in creating journals is the creation itself. The gathering, the hoarding, the ideas, the process, the development. And yes, journaling is a never ending story. Fun to all of you!🎉

I only gifted a junk journal to my mother because I know she loves them but otherwise, it is a gift that would not be appreciated as it should I find so, I prefer selling my over extra and fund a bit my hobby :)

Thank you so much 😊 I always want and keep in mind to do a full craft room video but I keep moving stuff around and expending my place! lately, I sold the big couch on MarketPlace to free some space in my basement and did a shipping station area. I almost have the whole basement now and should be doing a real full craft room tour soon. :)

I love making journals but I don't write in them. I would like to make a bible journal and write scriptures in it. There is no one that l know that makes journals or understand what they are or why I make them. I have bought some too and just love to look at them. It just brings me joy!

I make junk journals but I also have made myself several - one I use as a gratitude journal and the other for Bible verses and for prayer requests. I agree, people like them, but do not know what they are used for. Love your little booklet - I will definitely use this in an upcoming journal.
@odulcina5 күн бұрын
Exactly :) Reality is that making junk journals can serve different purposes and one of them is to just have a creative time, playing with papers. But I love to use them and write in them too so, it’s good to have ideas. :) I am happy to see that you are like me for the junk journal usage and appreciation. :)

Beautiful craft space, love all of it! Me and my sister each have an old style Singer sewing machine. One came with our parents from Ukraine (I learned how to sew on this machine) and one came from my stepfather from either Russia or Germany and both work. Merci besucoup!

That is awesome! I bought mine used when I was 17 years old and did one sewing project with it over time, reduce the length of my husband’s pants and it took me 2 hours …just because I needed to get the good rythme with me feet for the needle to start sewing and sure enough, I was laughing so, I would lose the pace, the rythme … and had to find it again … but laugh again … and it went like that for 2 hours! That is an awesome memory, it has been very fulfilled with laugh but, I use my electric sewing machine since! ahah :)
