Question, are you running DCS at 4K? The reason I ask is that at 32 inches I highly doubt anyone can tell the difference between 1080P and 4k. Maybe you could free up some headroom running at 1080P?

I have the resolution set to 4k but i play in VR. Now, the recording is now as good as it really is. Unfortunately i have to downgrade it a bit in order to get an smooth gameplay

Hey buddy, i only do vr, i use quest 2 with the highest setting possible, it helps having a powerful rig though to keep those fps up with ultra settings. I've never played it in 2D, only vr

@@DCSGameplays24 this game is old tech compared to what we have now, we're shooting missiles at ranges you can only pretend to know about in youtube videos. aerial combat is now so boring you might as well say its easier because no one will get close enough for a classic dogfight. but only the people up there know the numbers, the data and the experiences to truly say, who knows now with stealth, pilots might never be able to lock eachother until it there IS merge potential, which is somewhat amusing if you think about it.

@@Madnot4 Its not boring its horrifying. Only the most technical and advanced aircraft and pilots will have a chance of living. At any point in time they could have a number of things trying to kill them that if one mistake is made could spell their deaths. They could be killed by some computer system 40 miles away. It takes a lot of bravery to pilot combat military aircraft because they know better than anyone else how one wrong setting, one missed signal, one simple mistake could lead to their guaranteed death. I think they honestly would prefer a dog fight.

@yusriyahbagheri8843 on f16s such as Ukraine is getting, getting into a dogfight will imply pulling 9gs for even a straight minute or more, if you see the Sukhoi video dodging a patriot, dude almost broke his legs pulling not even the max gs on the thing, and I'm not sure he came out totally unharmed, yes aerial combat has factors we don't even know about, it's terrifying all the way through and the people who do it don't only have insane genetics but massive balls. Let me tell you what if they said my aircraft can only shoot an aim120b when the enemy has supersonic 100 mile range missiles and be forced to fly 50ft off the ground going 400 knots I'd quit day 1 if given the choice... edit: I want to add that when I said the word boring, it's mostly because of our sensors being so interlinked and powerful, Beyond Visual Range will always be the goal, getting into what is a dogfight is never preferred, it's a complete coin toss and too unpredictable specially with off bore fox 2's doing literal loops now to hit targets, modern missiles have ranges that I've only read about in random articles with no real sources, but I myself get the feeling an average distance of 100m isn't even close to the real figure on the most optimal of conditions. But again only DOF and the people doing these things will ever know. Point being we've developed tech specifically to avoid these fights and always try to shoot missiles and leave. Usually under the cover of your own systems and intelligence sensors.

in vr, it doesnt look as good and I get very dizzy and the world is very flat, only the cockpit is realistic. why do u have growling sidewinder in ur title tho

buddy i can tell you this. wrong settings can mess the whole thing up. DCS in VR is very demanding so you will need a powerful rig, if you have that go set the graphics manually to the highest possible. Also depending on what headset you use you will get different results. I personally use quest 2 so i also messed with oculus tray tool. I took me almost 2 months to find that sweet spot when i first went VR. Now that its all perfectly setup the difference between vr and 2d is minimum and i am willing to live with it because the realism you get is priceless, As far having Growling sidewinder in the tittle is because thats the server i play in online

"Almost" impossible to beat. F-18 beats F-16 in a dogfight every time.

unfortunately we will never see that happen but i’ll tell u this. I love the f-18 and its radar and SA and it definitely would be a tough one but on the other hand, the f-18 is a lot heavier, draggy and slower than the f-16 which is a huge disadvantage specially when the comparison is that close. The f-16 is extremely agile and its power to weight ratio is incredible high so, i wont say its a walk at park for the f-18
