It's a shame that savings were made in the wrong place. Where are the external cameras on the right and left that are controlled via monitors? Where is the navigation system and the entertainment display? That would have made work much easier, something no other truck brand can offer. Best greetings from switzerland

We switched companies approximately 3 months ago and I am very close to coming off the road all together after 42 years almost.. so I may not be in this one much longer either. It's been a long journey from 1984 to today, lol thanks for watching.

Surprised they let you take the load without a vented dry van. Been to that area once in 2019, almost got rejected. It was a long deadhead from Denver.

It wasn't very clear how the potatoes got into your truck. Did they not FILL your trailer all the way? Was your trailer on a decline so more potatoes could fit into it? What was the process of the bucket of potatoes and weighing a couple? The unloading was self explanatory. Thanks for the video.
@Thunderstrucktrans3 ай бұрын
They loaded the potatoes with the conveyor belt until it got two feet up the side of the walls then I had to pull forward two other times so that they can fill it up all the way almost to the back so it was not on an incline but I had to pull forward and stay in my truck while they loaded it from the back to the front The bucket that guy was an inspector and he just kind of weighed the potatoes and kind of took you know notes of several of them throughout the loading process just to make sure everything was pretty consistent and all the potatoes looked good by weight and color etc but yeah that's about it

Ha! I did the same thing in my Volvo except I didn’t use the two bars you used under the flat wood. I just cut the flat wood to fit onto the plastic braces on the sides. You think Volvo would have made those flat pieces but I couldn’t find them. Great minds think alike!

My Volvo (and Freightliner) trick: do you enjoy AC, a full night's sleep, and a truck that doesn't wake you up every 10 minutes? All that starting and stopping the engine? Volvo calls it "Idle smart" but it ought to be renamed "my boss is too cheap to buy APU's so I get woken up all night" button. To pull off the trick, you the truck in gear, creep forward, and then pull ONLY the red knob (which puts on the trailer brakes), while simultaneously shifting to neutral. This fools the truck into not shutting down after prolonged idling. This gets around pulling the Yellow knob. Pulling the yellow knob will activate a timer that cuts you off from prolonged idling. But, Prolonged idling is a necessity if you don't want to have a heat stroke sitting in a metal & glass box in full summer. With Freightliner, an alarm goes off if you exit via the driver's door without the yellow tractor brakes engaged, but it’s only a buzzer if you exit via the other door. The Volvo has only a small warning to engage the tractor brake. Of course, none of this red-knob trailer brake trick works if you're bobtailing and have no trailer to immobilize your truck. Lemme know if this trick works for you let me know. Maybe we can advocate that APU's (air conditioners) be mandatory, along with Carbon Monoxide detectors. After all, those are mandated in Section 8 housing, so why not in the places we sleep?
@tbkbaker004 ай бұрын
Please don't do this,your trailer brakes aren't designed to keep you still over night,that's why your truck brake button is also called your parking brake....you get caught doin this cause an accident, it'll ne 100% on you.
@charlesdada64343 ай бұрын
@@tbkbaker00 If trailer brakes can stop the kenetic energy of 80k pounds going 70 mph downhil;l, then how come they can't hold the same weight at Zero mph on level land? Furthermore, the brake shoes themselves are the exact same. From a safety perspective, I sleep better in a truck that is 70 degrees instead of 190 degrees. Show me where the "design factor" means anything on a level and stationary vehicle
