Yes, both were a very comfortable temperature. The pool looked a bit icky when we first arrived, and within an hour there was someone there to clean it.

Did you got your personal guide while in Egypt? How much tip per day?
@Travel-TrishАй бұрын
Yes we had a personal guide. We had one in Cairo, a different one in Aswan, and a third for the cruise/Luxor. The tips varied based on how long we had them. I was told an average tip was about $20 per person for each day. We also tipped our drivers if they were with us all day. Our Cairo tour guide was good. But the others were excellent so we tipped a bit more.

Very good video. Do you recall how long it took you to tour Valley of the Kings?
@Travel-Trish2 ай бұрын
We didn't spend as much time as I would have liked at VOTK. Out cruise ship came in late so we had to cram all of east and west Luxor into one morning instead of 2 days. We went to Valley of the Kings first thing right when it opened. There were no lines, no waiting and no crowds. We spent a total of about 90 minutes there. Queen Hatshepsut was next. That too had no crowds yet as it was still early and that took about an hour. Karnak by far took the most time and needed the most time. It is a very large area to explore and it is crowded so it was harder to move around.

Was your trip and activities fully catered by Memphis tours?

Not all meals, but most meals. If at any time we wanted them to stop or needed recommendations they were happy to arrange that for us.

Love the video , very informative. May I ask what month was this trip. I’m planning one for next year but I’m trying to avoid the rain and heat there. Thank you in advance.
@Travel-Trish2 ай бұрын
We went the first week of February. We avoided all of the heat, it was wonderful. Memphis tours allowed us to completely customize our package. While we were on the cruise all 3 meals were included. On the other days breakfast at the hotel was included and lunch at a local restaurant was included but we had freedom to pick dinner. Each evening before the Memphis rep would leave us they would ask if we wanted to stop anywhere or if we needed anything. Most nights we were so exhausted we just ended up grabbing dinner at the hotel.

The rates vary greatly based on dates and size of cottage. We had a 2 bedroom but they have much larger available. I booked ours very early and got a black Friday special so we paid $89 per night. There is also a resort fee and a pet fee. I haven't seen another deal like that since we booked it.

Update!!!: I am back in Amber Cove today. I got the prices of the VIP area. Basic VIP is the standard teal and black chairs. It includes wifi, unlimited water slide access (which is normally $5 each time), and an umbrella. For 2 people it is $59 all day. There is premium VIP which is the fancy green and blue striped chairs with a bit more padding. It includes all the things the basic package does plus one floatie for the pool.

While recording this clip I complied with all instructions given to me by the workers because safety is very important to me.
