Looks nice - how loud are the skimmer and pump compared to let's say evo 100 and dc runner 600? Is there a way to put both heater and biological media in the sump?

it would be nice if they had a calculator to use with other dosing pumps that works more like their app does to make adjustments according to calcium, I used their wizard to start off and depending on which one you choose {excellent-great} the monthly cost can be significantly higher than rated even at the lowest suggested dose

That's actually backwards, you wish other pumps would have the capacity to calculate the doses needed to automate the processes RD4 is doing. You can do the math yourself, but since RD4 is very accurate it takes the exact volume doesed to date and bring it into account, so it's a bit more complicated to do without knowing the all the exact variables RD4 is measuring. At the end the cost is determined by the actual uptake of your tank, The website gives a good estimate for a well stocked tank.

I am interested in this tank but red Sea makes it super hard to ask questions of them directly and instead routes questions through Podunk local dealers without direct product knowledge. Everything now takes ten times as long.

Complete junk app. It's impossible to connect LED 90's keeps trying but it kicks my wifi into no data. Been at this for hours now!!! Spent 1000's of dollars to have an modern setup and the app is not modern enough to connect to anything!!!!!

How to get this thing to work without internet? I had to change the roll, and cannot via the app to set new roll. Had to delete it to get it to even trigger access point mode it wasn’t working holding settings button down

You can connect it offline you don't need internet. You can use a router to do so or use the "offline aquarium" to set your tank and use the stand alone option on the onboarding. If that fails, contact our support we would love to assist.

I have been adjusting this valve on my new g2 170. Flow from the return pump is 1000lt/h. Opened the valve to stop the returning, reaching overflow pipe, and it sounds like a tiolet flushing. I have turned my pump down and set the valve one turn back from closed. Noise reduced, but flow seams week. Question: Is this normal or would a higher flow pump allow me to open the valve further without the flushing noise.

A 1000lph pump is on the weaker side, nevertheless, you should make very slow adjustments and wait a min. or 2 before adjusting again. Contact our support for more detailed info if you are still struggling.

How do i know how much ml are left in each bottle to update the current volume? I put my calcium, salinity level and temperature level into the app. Recalibrated all the heads and it says my bottles are low on liquid when they're pretty much full.

You calibrate each head, put the supplement volume when you start and it calculates how much was added and alerts you when the supplement is running low.

I’ve had a bad outbreak of hair algae in my reefer 425xl that I’ve had up and running for a bout 18 months. My nitrate and phosphate levels always show very low, but I’m assuming it’s actually higher but the algae is using it. I feed frozen an a tiny bit of pellets. If I start using nopox will it help, or am I too late for this solution?

It can take some time to clean the rocks, as the rocks are filled with algae. It usually takes ~8weeks for NOPOX to start working. Start with a high dose of 3ml per 100l and allow it to work for several months till you see the algae starting to die off. It's a long process.

I have one of the first reefer models. So no g2. I cut out everything as in the video, but it is too wide and stands on the glass, which covers the inlet/filter baskets of The rear feed chamber is separated. It is wider and does not go into the corner.@@Redseafish

Have a question, when we use 4-Part dose on Tank full of soft Coral / Dominant Soft coral, the consumption of Iron will be higher compare to Tank with SPS Dominant or Tank with noncalcifying organism like anemones. How to handle this situation and keep the all major/minor is still in-balanced thnks

You can edit specific day of the week, you cannot let the system randomize days. Pick what days you want and how much per each day and times and they system will save and dose it every week accordingly.

I just want to share my experience with the NanoMat. It easy really easy to install and mount it to the rear sump, but the problem is the trial and error part. It is really pain in the @s to hit the exact or perfect water level inorder for the NanoMat to be efficient. I do not have the ReefATO+ and just been using the stock ATO. And i noticed that they arei sadly not compatible. Why? Because when the Nanomat is working with the correct watrr level. The stock ATO adds water then the water level will be high again. With the NanoMat…it needs low water level to function. And what i observed on the return water chamber it is really low!! Even if you install the reefATO sensor it will not reach it…and still the nanomat is blinking all the time.. Red Sea should invent a part that could elevate the NanoMat itself more or something that could hold the NanoMat in place and people can adjust the hight of The Nanomat they want to get that perfect water level…im so sad.😢 The protein skimmer when place at the back will add more water level + returning water towards the NanoMat. I cant seem to get the perfect water level without the stock ATO. Even if i add the stock ATO, the valve is still higher than the desired water level thus it will add more water to the tank…pls red Sea do something!! Or am i the only one experiencing this…

You can adjust the float valve on the stock ATO to control the exact water height. The valve has a hinge that can be adjusted. Thank you for taking the time to comment.
