There can be, this is why using NOPOX and testing NO3 and PO4 is important. Controlling the nutrients will prevent the blooms and make the aquarium ready for corals.

It's a great value for money, better than the designated aquarium reservoirs that are on the market and the space saving is a big deal. If you have a lot of space you can get a cheaper barrel or bin to suit your needs.

We don't have a comparison. The skimmer is pretty strong, as quiet as it can be, we wouldn't put it in our bedroom. you can place a heater under the skimmer. That's actually backwards, you wish other pumps would have the capacity to calculate the doses needed to automate the processes RD4 is doing. You can do the math yourself, but since RD4 is very accurate it takes the exact volume doesed to date and bring it into account, so it's a bit more complicated to do without knowing the all the exact variables RD4 is measuring. At the end the cost is determined by the actual uptake of your tank, The website gives a good estimate for a well stocked tank.
