Ha I remember this well! The magazine came with a little white cassette box and inside was the audio that you are now listening too! What a blast from the past, i thought it was from the fast lane 1988 mag but my memory is not reliable! I remember Mark Hales critizing the dash board covering of the Ferrari, telling listeners it was like a pair of Postman's trousers!

Despite input from Lotus the Proton GTI was never popular here in the UK; Protons were seen as a 'budget' car... However in its home country of Malaysia it was said to be a source of national pride... Malaysia was said to be an emerging economy in the 1980s like Vietnam is today... I can remember Humberside Police with its Proton Impians.

Can you tell me a little about them I’m from Canada but I live in America but I drive a 1992 eagle talon tsi awd it’s basically the same car as the Plymouth laser rs turbo awd and Mitsubishi eclipse gsx. But I’m very curious about what these vehicle have in common with the whole lineup do they use Mitsubishi engine? Particularly 420a’s to 4g63’s and 4g63t?
@YUM_DustDSM4G63 Жыл бұрын
It’s like a Malaysian evo? Kind of like what the Mitsubishi eclipse Plymouth laser and eagle talon was to Canadians and Americans
@ramonaalol Жыл бұрын
@@YUM_DustDSM4G63 If you're talking about the car on the video, yes Proton do actually use 4G63 (just without the turbo and HP decreased) on their older car particularly Perdana. Most people who love Proton here in Malaysia would rather swap for 4G63 or 93 and sell the 4G15 instead(?) due to how popular the engine is. 4G93 were also used in Proton Limited Edition car in the past which is very cool. Oh yeah tuner at here also find a way to even tune 4G15 engine too and its crazy to think it can go like 400-500HP. Mind you too that Proton do rebadged old Mitsubishi's like Lancer Fiore, normal Lancer and Mirage. But now they're hot rubbish who followed a Chinese design but I don't really care much.

I live in the US on the border with Canada. Thanks to the PBS station in Detroit, I got to watch all of the British comedies like this, Python, Fawlty Towers, The Young Ones, Black Adder, Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, and so on. The Global Television Network in Canada was just starting in the late 70's or early 80's, and to make them stand out from CBC and CTV, they took the same route as shows like this with a little nudity, and some cursing. They had their own version of NTNOCN, called Sh..It's the News.

John Lloyd reminds me of the deathless “fifth Beatle” George Martin from the Big Train sketch. So acknowledged and so successful that life itself exhausts him.
