Being a huge WW2 history fan, I’ve often thought about being a u boat commander. With the loses the way they were good chance I would not have survived the war. As an American sub commander I’d have probably lived and be sitting around telling war stories

Sad to read about all these Nazi's able to live life normally after war. They should have been prosecuted and sent to Soviet Gulaz.

@@dada-nd4eg the purpose of this shipments was to support aliated military activities in Europe. So this U-Boot crews served their country as others did in others armies. Killing people is bad everywhere. Just to check out who commited war crimes is as Werner Hartgenstein safed the life of many people from Laconia with his Boot U156 and got attacked while safeing other peoples life by an american airplane. US Pilots killed its own people purpousely.

War hero's, all of them. No matter what side you're on, if you're forced to endure war (like everyone was), and doing well at your task, that's a war hero. Not to be confused with regular, everyday heroes (which is defined as, above and beyond, the call of duty), but heroes, nevertheless👏🇩🇪👍!! Kudos on an interesting, excellent documentary, on a subject not thought about, everyday🤔,

Great interview! You should should have a season of interviews with all You Tube sailors (ie: Nandi, Sailing Good Bad and Ugly, Beau & Brandy, etc.) It would be much better than television’s “Reality” shows. Sierra and Billy are my favorite - they are so natural and always have interesting content. Thanks

Your title is wrong. These are the top 7 U-Boat war criminals. They have to be since Raeder and Doenitz were convicted of war crimes based on the actions of their inferior officers. I suggest a re-edit, exposing these Nazi monsters for the murderers they are. I don't disagree with the premise that the U-Boats were an incredible weapon in the hands of skilled commanders, but they deserve our scorn and disgust, not admiration for their crimes. I'm willing to back up my argument based on facts and events during the war that were proved at Nuremberg and even admitted by Doenitz on the stand to his defense attorney.

U99 was sunk by HMS Walker, captained by one of the Royal Navy's top UBoat hunters, Capt Donald MacIntyre. HMS Walker was launched in 1918 so was very old when this happened. My father served as an ASDIC rating in her.

Nuestra Senora de la Mercedes was discovered and salvaged by Odyssey Marine Exploration which recovered 17 tons of Gold and Silver which was later seized by Spain. Spain later won a legal battle which forced the salvage company to relinquish all claims to the treasure.

To me (and many others) there are but two KZbin yachting channels featuring humans on boats rifling through cabinets and showing off toilets - Auquaholic and NautiStyles. And that is their draw - personal interactions, knowledgeable information and a variety of boats on a regular schedule. They are fun to watch for a variety of reasons, but it all comes down to no background distractions and real people having a conversation with the viewer. Honest and real. Thanks to everyone for this video - also entertaining AND informative.
