I'm turning 50 in a few weeks, both of my parents are gone. My childhood, my youth, my parents were an odd couple, some good but lots of bad times, there's ls still lots of pain and hurts. I can't even explain, don't wanna get started. I have faith in The Lord Above to get me through each day, Im thankful for that.

I recall when my son was a wee little boy. I would pick up on weekends, we would camp in our truck, go on adventures. He died recently and this song reminds me so much of him.

I believe the world we live in today is a product of the increase in broken homes over the last 50 years and the effect it has had on the children that were too young to understand why. Try to think of it through the eyes of five year old why the man now sleeping with mama is not daddy and daddy hardly comes to see them and just how confusing that can be to a child.

Not I. But it definitely takes me back to the Wednesdays, Weekends, and all the child support I never had to be taken to court a single time to get years ago. And miss it. They grow up way, way, too fast. But back then, I would say I can't keep up and need a nap. Now, I have way too much time to nap and wished I was back then. kzbin.info/www/bejne/nYuwdJ6rm6pjjpIsi=TdoHbtQFEOfvHtkx That one gets me thinking as well.

Help Wanted In Leadership Roles Looking for real leader must be doing all of the things below Must be collecting SSI and must have given birth in prison as a inmate. Must have retained or regained custody of that infant and have gotten paroled from federal or another type of prison. Must have stayed out of prison for 5 years and done all of the above before 6 years goes by Most importantly must be respected, obeyed, and trusted by their own daughter.

Can't lie. I love this song, but it has always made the child sound spoiled as hell. Probably why it has ALWAYS reminded me of the first boyfriend who had a child that I was ignorant enough to date. That was a whole lot of years ago, but sadly, I have dated a few other men that this is painfully true for. My rule...no kids, no kids, no kids lol

Not spoiled, called making the best of the little time you have. You never walked the shoes so you wouldn't have the foggiest idea of what its like. I most definitely do lots of things with my daughter that i normally wouldn't do and spend wayyyyy more money than i would any other time. So with all due respect us guys with kids wouldn't want anything to do with someone like you either. You seem selfish, self centered and honestly jealous of a kid that takes away time with you. Any self respecting father would do the same, you be thrown to the curb so fast it would make your head spin.

I've been a fan of Doug Supernaw since I was a kid In the 90s. I've always loved this song but I've got to be honest... I'm now 35 and my son Is 4 and his Mom and I have been broken up since he was 2 and this song and every word and emotion In It along with the video just hits home for me. I love how the step dad buys a real horse for him to ride but In the end he's looking at the picture of him and his Dad. I love that part. Also no offense to step dad's because I've been one. Hang In there Dad's! We've got this regardless of the situation and NO MATTER what's going on with your kids mom ALWAYS, ALWAYS, ALWAYS BE THERE for your kids. Always.

I was a metal head in high school, but I remembered seeing this video on CMT back in the day. The scene at the end where he's driving off, and the son is holding the stuffed horse and a Polaroid haunted me. Reminds me of the little vague moments growing up that you took for granted and now regret. I suppose getting old is all about relentlessly beating yourself up with revisited memories. Anyway, I never knew who recorded this song until now.
