DJB not an original singer. This is an interview of him on a radio program. He mentions there was another singer before him. I not know that. kzbin.info/www/bejne/rYimYZyFaMmAY6ssi=8d3vd61mgIY4MVo-

All these years I thought DJB was the original singer. Here is an audio of him on a radio station and he at one point talks about the name. He mentions. He mentions that there was an original singer. kzbin.info/www/bejne/rYimYZyFaMmAY6ssi=8d3vd61mgIY4MVo-

It totally sucks that they have all died. They were so great live. No back track that they sang and played to. Concerts today are completely overpriced karaoke music. Without KZbin this was just a memory. Yes they are all playing as a band.

Dave is so good looking and in such great shape. I wish he had taken care of himself because his genetics were amazing. Steve is highly underrated. His solo on Dreams was super strong. If they could have kept this lineup with DJB, they could have produced so much more amazing music.

Interesting that their biggest hit was received so tepidly yet a cover of an old blues classic made modern famous by Eric Clapton got the crowd riled up.

They were a very good and somewhat influential band. The one thing they were lacking here was a guitar tuner.

When the first album came out, I was 12 years old, played sick for 3 days to stay out of school so I could play the record non stop full blast. Got to see them not long after, and that was it for me!!!

there's so many transistorized amps on that stage, you could fry an egg.... but I like that stiff mechanical Peavy sound.....I think somebody sells a pedal that does this "open crunch" tone

This group had impeccable rhythm. That really set them apart from some of the other southern bands of the time.

My first concert was Molly Hatchet, Blackfoot, and Rainbow back in 1979 for a whopping $7.50. I recently took my son to his first concert to just see Styx, and it was only about $800.00 including T-shirts and a couple of drinks. Gheeze!!!

I was a tad late to the party, because although I listened to those albums by Molly Hatchet I didn’t get around to seeing the band live in concert until 1993. And where I saw Molly Hatchet was in Niceville, Florida at the Boggy Bayou Mullet Festival. First, there were a couple of warm-up bands to be endured. Then over the public address system there was an operatic chorus that made me think that an invasion by a horde of Viking warriors was about to rampage the land. And then the band took the stage, and opened up with “Flirtin’ With Disaster,” and for the next two hours I was in Southern rock heaven. Then the show ended with “Gator Country” and then it was time to leave. And then I drove all the way from Niceville to Navarre so I could tell my wife (RIP) about the good time that was had at the show. One of the best anniversary presents ever. And here was the lineup--- Danny Joe Brown: vocals Bobby Ingram: lead and rhythm guitars, slide guitar Erik Lundgren: lead and rhythm guitars Mike Kach: keyboards Buzzy Meekins: bass Mac Crawford: drums, percussion I will remember this always.

Yeah Jimmy was the last time M.H. really sounded good other than with DJB. Booze, drugs and egos rip apart a lot of great things but this one guitar-keyboard monstrosity B.I. is making money on is a disgrace.
