I feel that England VS Scotland should be revived. The days of the 70's and 80's are long over. Yes, there are still fans who cause trouble, but the friendly games from 2013, 2014, and 2023 were great games. The WC Qualifiers were also great games too in 2016 and 2017

After last night’s dire offering, we need less England games to watch. I do kind of agree looking at recent games, but the home international in the 1980’s were a fairly poor games and were seen as a chore.

Politically England *controls* Scotland not one fkg jot. This small minded victimhood mentality runs through the blood of far too many Scots.

Even though I do like a good portion of this film. It is without a doubt one of my least favourite bond movies ever. Definitely the worst Sean Connery bond film easily. And definitely the worst version of Blofeld. I really wish George lazenby did this film instead and carried on where the previous film left off. It would of been much better. Especially if it was a straight up revenge tale.
@loftlegacy
@loftlegacy 18 күн бұрын
I agree. It would have been much better with George out for revenge.

I don’t know why Cubby Broccoli turned down Lewis for the role as James Bond. I guess the world wasn’t ready for a dark and sinister Bond at that time.

The main BS with their guidelines is that they fail miserably to adequately explain 'discrimination'. For a start, all that discrimination is the distinction between one thing and another, but they have used a sloppy, vernacular definition of 'discrimination' as 'unfair discrimination'. This also fails to explain whether the film in question is proselytising unfair discrimination or whether unfair discrimination is theme of the story. In that case you would have to prevent children from the vast majority of fairy stories, fables, myths, the Bible, etc. More wokery, unfortunately.

I have seen the IFCO black card film ratings in the cinemas because I live in the Republic of Ireland. The ratings 12a, 15a and 16 are only used in the cinemas. Whereas the DVD ratings are G, PG, 12, 15 and 18.

Roger Moore was one of my favourite actors. Even when I was a kid, I loved him in "The Saint" Then of course there was the "Persuaders", where he played a broadly similar character, another series I enjoyed a lot. And the first Bond film I ever saw was "Live and Let Die" - I was just a young kid, I didn't have a clue what was going on in this film, or who this James Bond guy was, but it was enough for me that Roger Moore was in it. He was great at playing a particular kind of character, but after 20 odd years of playing "Saintly" roles, he must have loved being able to play a scruffy, eccentric grouch like ffolkes. For me, this film's a lot of fun - I've seen it several times and always enjoyed it, mostly for Moore's performance, but also because it's got a well-constructed plot and a good supporting cast. It's a pity they didn't make a sequel or two.

Thanks for the great comment. Moonraker was my first Bond and growing up Rog was my 007. Ffolks is such a departure for him, especially after 4 Bonds. I agree, it was such a unique character it deserved a sequel. Well, I’m off to drink scotch as it was meant to be drunk, neat and out of the bottle! 😉

Thanks for the detailed exploration of that UK Annual. I believe that the comic stories in your book are reprints of comic book issues that were originally published in the US by Gold Key or Whitman as The Black Hole (an adaptation of the movie). With isdue 4 the title changed to Beyond the Black Hole. Issue #4 was only available in comic 2 packs and I have heard that issues 5 and 6 were only published in South America.

kzbin.info/www/bejne/gXmYl4WHbdaap9Esi=ri2Jw4a4mhGmI0f3 You’re right that Marti Pellow is now dull. He’s a nostalgia act, exclusively for women of a certain age. He won’t win any new fans with his latest performances. He can’t work in the West End anymore, his voice has been damaged by years of over singing in thousands of musicals. Had a great career and can eek out his time appealing to sycophants who pretend he isn’t in severe decline as a singer.

You horrible little man. I agree with all the comments you’ve received. ‘Troll’. You took a ticket away from a deserving fan. You should have stayed away. Marti has never needed to lip sync. And, to shame another person who was having an amazing time is disgraceful. Everybody was singing be it good or bad. Who do you think you are ‘Simon Cowell’. Stay in your lane in future.

You nasty little troll. If you don't like his music, don't go to the freaking concerts then! You say you've been before? Then you knew the sort of music to expect, so wind your neck in. The only part of what you laughingly call a "concert review" that I agree with is your comments about the orchestra. After seeing him at the London Palladium, we were expecting the same fully rounded sound, which we didn't get, but as for the rest of it? We loved it, and so did everyone around us. Marti is a great performer and we had a great night. What on earth gives you the right to publicly shame another member of the audience? You are bang out of order there. I think most people will treat your nasty little diatribe with the contempt it deserves.

I absolutely love You only live twice. Easily my 3rd favourite Sean Connery Bond film. It will never top From Russia with love and Goldfinger though . As much as I love Donald's performance as Blofeld. I do prefer Telly savalas's performance as Blofeld. He was definitely one of the big highlights for OHMSS. This film definitely has my all time favourite bond theme song. Such a hauntingly beautiful song.

I kind of agree, but they did say that the old shop was in a poor state or repair and I think they had the warehouse anyway, so tagged a shop onto it. Someone told me the business plan was Argos where you go to pick up, but I used to buy something when I visited the old shop every time I went. I couldn't resist browsing and something would catch my eye in a way it never could on a screen.
