So many factors can be the cause but, Check for dashboard warning lights, which might indicate specific sensor or system issues. Inspect and replace air and fuel filters if needed. Have the spark plugs, ignition coils, and sensors (MAF, TPS, oxygen sensors) tested and replaced if necessary. Most important, Perform a diagnostic scan for error codes. The code you get will pinpoint the exact issue. Google the code and know the it stands for.

Check the level of electrolyte if the battery has removable caps. If low fill to the bottom of the splash guard plastic tubes just below the caps. Use distilled water to avoid contamination of the plates. Some battery chargers have a pulse cycle that can clean and restore the plates. Powdered terminals can also be due to current flowing across the top of the battery on oily dirt so keep it clean. If your car sits for long periods charge the battery or use a trickle maintainer. If it struggles to start don't crank it till it gives up or you can reverse a cell and it's ruined. Give it a charge. If you leave the headlights on turn them off and wait for a few minutes to give the battery a chance to regenerate. Turn off all lights,wipers,radio etc. before cranking and if it struggles jump it or charge it. If you off road or drive on rough roads you can shake the plates loose and be stuck. I used carpet to make a vibration damper on the bottom and sides. AGM batteries are much better at surviving vibration and repeated discharges.

@@driveandfix the video is mis-balanced. It spends way too much time on irrelevant points and no where near enough time on what matters. For example, it spends way too much time stating the obvious functions of the manifold and virtually no time on the only things that matters - how well it's tuned for air flow. Or the difference between factory manifolds vs aftermarket, why factory manifolds are poor and frequently replaced. In several places you credit the manifold with functions it doesn't do, eg noise reduction or pollution. The silencer and cat do those things. Saying the manifold does it is like saying my front garden is for security because it leads to my front door. You spent a lot of time talking about what happens when manifold goes wrong. It very rarely goes wrong so this shouldn't have taken up so much of the video. Bad O2 readings, you mention poor running but forget the most important part - bad O2 readings can lead to hot running or sooting and total engine failure.

This video is specifically aimed at those who are unfamiliar with what a manifold is and how it operates-not for individuals who are already knowledgeable. As for the example you mentioned, we're discussing cars here, not houses. Regarding the symptoms, this video focuses solely on the manifold, not the O2 sensor. I’ve already made a separate video on the O2 sensor. I always conduct thorough research before publishing my content to ensure it is accurate and verifiable. Thanks again for your input.

So if you have watched to the end, you will have seen an answer to your question, nevertheless here are some steps to notice. Check for Symptoms: Rough idle Poor fuel economy Engine stalling Hesitation or jerking during acceleration Check Engine Light (CEL) on Visual Inspection: Locate the MAF sensor, typically near the air filter box. Inspect for visible damage or dirt buildup. Could you check for loose or damaged wiring and connectors?

Reallly !? When these fail in an "intererence" engine design (most) ALL. The valves hit the pistons and Bend. Zero subltety OR ambiguity....the engine will no longer start.. period ! Without a LARGE application of $$$$
