You missed many other advantages to the RT85. You can change out the head shell for easy cartridge changes. You can change speeds with a knob. It’s the best bang for the buck at $500.00. Hands down!

Bullshit, the fluance has a terrible crap tonearm that couldn't track if it's life depended on it. The fluance is also made in china, and is just a $200 turntable with a fancy $300 cartridge.

Ciao Ron's Electronics. Complimenti. Ciascuna presenta l'attacco Right e Left. Antonio

Out on the tape RS 615 unit goes to audio in on the amp it can be aux in tape in or any input connection same for record if you want to record you can run cables to audio out on the amp to aux in on the RS 615 or the audio out on the turntable out to RS 615 in connections

A bad solder joint somewhere in the internal phono preamp is my guess? Are all those other LP120's and LP120X's fine?

@@Vintageelectronics2296 then I'm pretty sure it's a bad solder joint, considering it's running off the internal photo preamp. With these TTs being pumped out like crazy I bet it's bound to happen. Have you tested setting the Line/Phono switch to Phono and connecting it to a phono input?

@@OldMusicOnVinyl1 The trouble I found was the connections for the head shell was dirty I cleaned the connection and screwed the head shell back in and it works great never had that happen on a new unit

@@Vintageelectronics2296 wow. That IS one for the books. Certainly these AT (or any Hanpin-built) turntables can come with their faults but a dirty headshell connector? That's a first. I wonder how that would happen. Factory debris? Sitting somewhere for months? Alas, we may never know, but it's something to add to my list of things to warn people about when buying these turntables.

I've got the silver version and I'm struggling. Play was working originally spotty, but not fwd and rwd. I got the fast fwd and rewind working now, but no play (right roller moves but not left) Motor, pulleys, and belts are good, and I cleaned and oiled everything. Left moves during rewind but not fwd or play. lAnd I've used 3 different tapes. Any ideas?

I don't understand how if the tape turns the right reel and the left don't these models have a spring that jumps off the capstand wheel you can use hot glue to hold it in place also there is a pully about the size of a quarter under the right take up pully has a rubber tire on it I use water gaskets from lowes and they work great you have to remove the mechanism from the bottom to get to this wheel

@@Vintageelectronics2296 ok great I'll try some of that. I took it apart, but didn't break it all the way down as I was too afraid to make things worse or forget what goes where. I'm a newbie at this! The capstan is still moving good but I may have dislodged that spring you were talking about... I'll have to check. Either that or I was thinking there may be a gear not engaging that I'm not seeing under the left roller mechanism. (Sorry if I'm not using the right terminology, when I say rollers I mean the 2 black things that you set the tape onto, I'm still learning! :) I'm also thinking I may have put too much oil and that slipped something or now not enough friction/ traction somewhere to get it to engage and spin. Btw no broken teeth on any gears. The motor is turning good and the belts are taught. I copied alot of what you did in the video too (great by the way! ). It was very dirty so I thought a cleaning would do the trick... no such luck! Thanks for responding and sorry this is so long, I'm just really interested in this stuff! I recently fixed some old tuners, VCRs and CD players, but this thing is kicking my tail LOL

brother, I have a question regarding the tonearm of the at-lp60xbt that has a needle that is at3600l, why is its weight at 4grams using the digital scale! Brother, isn't the weight of the needle supposed to be 3 to 3.5 grams? I hope it can be answered and what should be done, thank you.
@Vintageelectronics2296
@Vintageelectronics2296 6 ай бұрын
Yes it is supposed to be 3.5 grams the spring that controls the weight sometimes gets weak I use tire weights if this happens to control the weight Its the moving up and down that weakens the spring.

Well the fluance rt81-rt85 has existed sense 2019. My friend has one from 2020. It is now 2025 and his turntable still works like brand new and he uses that thing almost daily.
