Узнала о нем спустя 15 лет, как он умер. Но какой же это был потрясающий артист. От голоса просто мурашки по всему телу. Голосище просто отвал башки, просто шикаршейший. И даже в 2024 году он звучит так же потрясающе, как и в года записи.

Fact: you do realize that this is the song that made John Fogerty want to be a musician? In an interview with Rolling Stone magazine, Fogerty reminisced of a day when him and his brother were riding with their dad in dad’s truck. Father Fogerty stopped at the store, and John changed the radio station from a gospel station (Father Fogerty was a pastor) to a rock station. Screamin Jay’s ‘I Put a Spell on You’ (and yes, Screamin Jay is the original and CCR is the cover) was on the rock station. After hearing it, John said he was determined to be a musician. Don’t get me wrong, I love CCR’s cover, but you’re koo koo for Cocoa Puffs if you think CCR’s version is better than Jays.. John Fogerty would probably tell you that jays version is better.

I admit that I had never heard of the guy or the song until the - coke zero march madness commercial 2024. I tried to Shazam the song in the commercial but no results. Someone here on youtube had posted the original song. It led me to here and "Boy am I Happy" to find this GEM. Great live performance. I'll be looking for more of your work from now on. It damn sure makes me pair it up with "Smokestack Lightning" for a mini-session. WELL DONE.
