This is one of the best entrenching tool videos on KZbin. Great presentation, hits all of the points, and gives examples. Also, etools for life.

If put in the 'hoe' position and shovelhead stumped into ground; the etool makes a lightduty winch anchor, allowing winching out of ice/snow/sand for ATV/CAR/LIGHT TRUCK. Use handle as winch point.

Absolutely hilarious and informative! One thing I will say tho: to anyone getting an "E-tool" from a company, make sure that the nut that tightens the blade and handle is made out of the same metal as the rest of the shovel. I had a cheap knockoff in the scouts where this nut was plastic, and the rest of the metal was some kind of light-weight aluminum alloy. First time I tried to dig a campfire hole, the whole shovel bent and broke in several places! So take it from my life lesson that it pays to insist upon high-quality materials and the most rigorous testing conditions. You gotta look for high-carbon steel and all-metal construction, and then you have to torture test your purchase as much as you can before calling upon it in an emergency.

I've found another good use. Turn handle 90 and use as a way to crawl across rough terrain. Put your weight on the handle use your other hand for balance. I used this method to army crawl across broken glass and gravel under briars.

The grappling hook part sold me on this. It's far cheaper than the crovel, too. It may lack a spike for breaking rocks or lacks cutting power, but there are other tools for that. Definitely worth $50

Pedro Henrique R. de Oliveira No idea. But if it can support him, I am reasonably sure it can support a normal man (as long as he's fit and no taller than 6'1 by my guess) and would definitely work with a woman, or younger person.

Will using the e-tool as a grappling hook damage the hinge? I'm concerned that the little piece of metal being held in place by the tightened nut will become worn down to the point where it may eventually give way either during use or otherwise, but at that point the e-tool wouldn't be able to be used as a grappling hook anymore...

Just a quick question, how sharp is the serrated part of the shovel? I'm just a bit afraid it might be too sharp to swing around aggressively.
@Bernesemtdog
@Bernesemtdog 9 жыл бұрын
The serrated part isn't sharp at all its meant to clear roots and brush like a machete for foxholes under trees or if you find a root when digging
