Really good presentation! Just wanted to point out something though- At 5:25 when you mentioned Mohammed (Peace be upon him) saying that ‘Flee lepers as from a lion’,although true,i feel it comes off as something ‘bad’ when you don’t have the context or how the Prophet Muhammad(PBUH) treated people with leprosy. Prophet Muhammad (PBUH),in an another authentic hadith,,took the hand of a leper and made him eat with him, and said: "Eat, with trust in Allah and reliance upon Allah." (Reference-Sunan Ibn Majah 3542,graded sahih by scholars like Al Bani) I think this hadith pretty much shows you that this action of Muhammad PBUH counteracted societal stigma and isolation faced by people with leprosy. It taught that such individuals deserve dignity and kindness. So,it is not that you don’t help people with leprosy or show them respect or have any stigma against them in Islam, the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH)was only shedding light on the fact that the disease is pretty contagious and we need to keep distance during that time. While this hadith emphasizes faith, it doesn’t negate the importance of precautions in cases of contagious diseases. Islam encourages a balanced approach-trust in God combined with practical measures. Hope this cleared any misunderstandings!

Hi Doctor, can we determine the cause of inflammation with CRP value and blood reports? What other tests can be needed to identify the cause ?

I am puzzled as I was diagnosed 2 weeks ago. All in my life I never feared HIV, as I used condomes and for 2 years PREP. I had an issue with my occipital lymphs and with the lymphs under being swollen as chains under since months.... They began to feel uncomfortable. I took a CBP test and I added STI-s as extra to be done with my yearly 2x tests. To my surprise as I expected some lymph issues or blood deficencies, all was correct, except HIV. I was in shock, but I accepted it it and keeping a good spirit, learning a lot about it. Before beginning my ARV, I took further tests. I am very surprised, 6months post exposure My CD4 came out completely healthy, showing zero sign of infection, while my viral load is below 50. I am full of questions, while since my 1 week taking ARV, my lymphs are rapidly shrinking back to normal states, which they weren't in the past 4,5 months. I am wondering what is going on inside my body. As I read, in my stage, the viral load should skyrocket and my CD4 should not be way above 500 withba 42%. I am happy and grateful for my body to carry and fight thisnvirus so well. Now the ARV can preserve it for good. ❤❤

Have seen multiple dermatologists, as many of us have, with no reasonable explanation for body-wide, itchy, inflamed lesions and rash. Doctors ignore specimens. Doctors have told me I have imaginary parasites without even examining me, much less testing. Not interested in examining specimens. It is a wonder I have not killed myself. It had been 11 years!

As an anesthsia provider I appreciate your candor and explanation. Sadly Im suffering from T 3-4 osteomyletisis , I just finished 6 weeks of Ancef, lucky it was susceptible. I did great but 8 weeks out I've tried doing more but have now suffered increased pain by increasing physical activity. I keep forgetting at 64 it takes longer to recovery.
