That was the first thing I tried. It didn't work, like all the other things I tried.

@@KalyanaDesignTutorials well I am dealing with arthritis. It’s just started all of a sudden and I feel like I am under attack. Doctors just hand me another pill.
@KalyanaDesignTutorials5 күн бұрын
I feel for you. I've been dealing with osteoarthritis for years (caused by the estrogen inhibitor I had to take for almost 5 years as part of the cancer treatment regimen). No pill for me. I guess, in your case, it's Plaquenil? Be careful with that. It has really (proven) toxic effects on the macula, and causes macular degeneration. Years ago I had a visit with a rheumatologist who tried to prescribe it to me at the first visit. I told him that prescribing a drug for inflammatory arthritis to a patient with non-inflammatory arthritis, who also has family history of macular degeneration, shows not only that he's a pill pusher being paid by Big Pharma but also that he has no care for his patient's lives, and fired him on the spot.

If you did want to cover a tin box with polymer clay, what type of adhesive would it take? Thank you for sharing your knowledge and experience.
@KalyanaDesignTutorials7 күн бұрын
It depends if you go over the edges of the base and the lid. If there is nothing that can slide off, you don't have to worry about adhesive. If there is, what I personally use is 2-parts Loctite quick set epoxy glue. You can find it at Polyclayplay as well as in my Amazon Influencer Store. The Polyclayplay one is cheaper. Please don't forget to use my affiliate link!

Always creating and sharing beautiful pieces. Are the pieces baked after UV resin?
@KalyanaDesignTutorials27 күн бұрын
Yes. As I said during the live broadcast, it only works with Chinese UV resin, do not try it with other brands as the resin might yellow. Chinese UV resin doesn't.

This turned out beautiful. ❤ Which wax had that almost pearlescent look? Do you think this same look could be achieved with mica powders?
@KalyanaDesignTutorials27 күн бұрын
You mean on the middle layer, the one with several discrete colors? It's the Opal Magic line from ArtAlchemy. You can find those both on my Amazon Influencer Store and on Polyclayplay here polyclayplay.com/?aff=2
@darlaboyle107427 күн бұрын
@@KalyanaDesignTutorials I think it was the first layer. I know you used different colors on the middle layer. That turned out gorgeous. The Shiny Star maybe. The other was Old Silver.
@KalyanaDesignTutorials27 күн бұрын
I think probably you're talking about Shiny Star. And yes, the same look can be obtaned with mica powders. With Pearl-ex you can use the interference colors on top of silver. I would go for base layer: apply first gold, then silver on top of the gold, middle layer, apply silver then put a bit of some interference on top of the silver, top layer silver only, and don't forget to apply a protective glaze after baking. In the video I use home-made shellac varnish, but you can use water-based Minwax or even Sculpey glaze. Just make sure you apply it in very thin layer, that is the reason I used shellac.

I love geodes but that gold, bronze and black is my favorite. Was that plain black? I ask cause it looked glittery but wasn't sure if that was from the other clays. Thanks again, Day.
@KalyanaDesignTutorials27 күн бұрын
It was actually scrap clay mixed with Blackout from Kato polyclay. It is entirely possible that there were tiny pieces of metallic or pearlescent clays in the scrap clay mix. I showed how to do that in this tutorial kzbin.info/www/bejne/iXmqg4VpmNdqrdksi=YV9CQ8shPS0izlR5

What are veneers?
@KalyanaDesignTutorialsАй бұрын
In everyday life, veneer means either 1. when it comes to furniture, a thin layer of more expensive wood laid over a less expensive wood or 2. when it comes to houses, a thin layer of decorative brick on the outside of the house. When it comes to polymer clay, it means a thin layer of various patterns made with various techniques (mokume gane, mica shift, cane slices, etc) placed on top of scrap (mud) clay bases. See my previous tutorial, kzbin.info/www/bejne/b4rcl4iuZb1sptk
