We bought a Levoit air purifier and used it a month now. On at least 3 hours a day. My husband started having heart arrythmias the last two weeks. I find it very suspicious, and we shut it off as of a few days ago.

We use a cheap 20 inch box fan and tape a filter on the front that will stay on the fan itself from the suction from the fan about 4 pieces of scotch tape to hold it on in case the power goes off it won’t fall off with all of the dust. Poor man’s cockatoo filter!

DO NOT BUY THIS UNIT!!! I ordered two of them, very disappointed. I immediately smelled a chemical odor when I turned on the on it, and got a headache. I put the unit in a small room and left it overnight. The next day I went into the room and I did not smell the smell. I then took out the filter thinking it must be the source. The filter smell is what I am smelling when the unit is turned on. I have a different air purifier (airdoctor) that has zero odor when turned on, only very fresh air. Unfortunately I did not think I would need to return these units and did not ask about the return policy. When I looked that up on their site, it looks like the return process will be at a SIGNIFICANT cost to me. I think I will have a filter independently tested for VOC because a filter should not have a chemical smell to it when the whole purpose is VOC elimination.

Would the TrueCarbon 270C be effective against cannabis order? Been trying different brands but i learned most amazon air purifiers dont have enough carbon and recently found this brand recommended on reddit

@oransi, If I wanted to significantly reduce or even eliminate the VOC odor from my spray polyurethane foam attic installations, I wonder if running one (or more) of these purifiers with the TrueCarbon filter would be efficient and cost-effective. (I'm using UL Green Guard Gold Certified foam for the lowest possible VOC material output). Can I chat with someone via email or phone about it?

I purchased the large room one and received it last week.. Set it up without too much issues except the directions were part of the box so did go to the website one to see it and also get it going . I live in an apartment (840 sf ) and the air quality is already not good in this apartment due to type of heating . I have 7 parakeets which do get to fly around with supervision in the apartment when i am home. I had the air quality dust issues in the apartment already from the way it is constructed . I started with 1 bird, then 3 more, with a hatch last Dec. Now have the 7 birds Recently all 7 of the birds were molting . I can tell i need to find a new AP and did research. This video was what sold me . I can tell my health is better and i can breath much better

I have sharper image with a blue light but i put tape over the blue light because its so small.

I bought 6 and put them on for an hour because i couldnt read the instructions the print couldnt be read even with a magnifying glass. I couldnt believe it i couldnt breathe , i thought i had to go to the hospital. I do have asthma but not bad.

Had two of those ozone generators at and a Sharper Image Ionic Breeze. My dad would smoke and have those on in the house with me in it as a child. I developed asthma at 17. Bought a dyson air purifier later. Helped a bit. Then bought an Alen and Blue Air. Been kind of nervous about the Blue air since it uses an ionizer with a hepa filter or HEPA Silent as they call it.

So basically what I got from this is not make my new purifier a long term investment and/or expensive purchase because its sensors most likey will be weak and/or get weaker over time. So this gotten me thinking about buying one from a firm that has a good reputation with replacing parts and having long warranties.

Hello, I'm having a hard time getting the vocs out of the bedroom carpet, (old apartment). I cleaned the carpet with a PowerScrub XL carpet clean machine using baking soda and hydrogen peroxide, the odor went away for a few hours but starts wafting around periodically. I cleaned the carpet 3 times, but the water is still very brown when I dump it out. I'm going to buy a steam cleaner next, will that work?

I am somewhat of an air filter/purifier connoisseur. i own 7 varying units and just got rid of the mideaair unit. i picked up 3 of your TrueCarbon units and really looking forward to some in-house testing. im highly allergic to mold and VOCs. with the army of units i have in addition to those 3 i just picked up from you, i may be able to breathe. i obviously monitor the inside and outside air with Davis instruments and some cheap-o CO2 and humidity meters. will let you know

I have four Oransi purifiers. Two of the Max one Mod and one Mod Jr. I put the two Max purifiers about 6” from the wall and the other two are about 8” from the wall and they catch lots of material in the filters. I am happy with their performance and the filters last longer than expected since I have so many. I even bought a Mod Jr. for a family member and recently talked a friend in Oregon into buying a Mod Jr.

I just bought the TrueCarbon filter that covers 350 sq ft, specifically to remove high ground-level ozone. Even with the fan turned all the way up in a small enclosed room, there does not seem to have been any improvement. Do I need a different filter?

You left out a huge source of interior VOCs. These are high VOC flooring adhesives, used to glue vinyl flooring down and also used to install some carpets. Adhesives are necessary for some buildings that have poured concrete base floors, versus wood floors. In that case, carpet has to be glued to the cement and cannot be tacked down to the cement base flooring.

I will be purchasing this air purifier in a couple weeks. I raise English budgies, so this will be an interesting trial. Obviously cleaning the bird room regularly is important.
