Your videos are brilliant and thanks for all the help! Maybe you can help me with how to print backlit text on a panel? I am building a Boeing 737 simulator and so far I have not found a good solution to this problem. The panels are 5mm thick and have cutouts for switches and buttons, the texts are engraved in real life. The text can be printed (despite its small size) but if I want backlighting it is more problematic. What I'm trying to do now is to cut the text out of the panel, make a copy of it with white color but only fill the top layer with this, 0,5mm thick. For the bottom layers I would need a clear filament, but I don't know if I can mix normal PLA and PETG transparent types?

Say u wanted the letter to protrude but print letters face down so they are textured? How would u do that if printing face down has different layer heights. (If that makes sense )
@HLModTechСағат бұрын
You could try using the supports created by your slicer. I personally like printing with the words up for speed. I have experimented a little with ironing for the top of the words in that configuration. It may not be texture, but it would be something worth trying.

I'm not confident using the computer, so I'm trying to find someone to help me... have you any suggestions, I'd like to collaborate, share, and work with you, I have a limited budget, but I'm absolutely confident you can do it in a few hours ❤.. please advise me 🙏

I love 3D Gloop and use it from time to time but you need to at least wear a respirator with organic vapor cartridges when using 3D Gloop (a full-face supplied-air respirator is indicated) and don’t use it inside your house/apartment/yurt/living area. Methylene chloride is highly toxic, super nasty stuff. It is not a glue, it is a solvent. Earlier this year the EPA issued a final risk management rule that “Prohibits manufacturing, processing and distribution of methylene chloride for all consumer uses…Most prohibited uses will be fully phased out within 2 years.” Please be safe!

I would use a technique like this. kzbin.info/www/bejne/hpyUfp2jm7GkkJosi=j-ay8ARSJH9atxG5 Of course that ends with being printed on the Bambu AMS... you would have to print separate and glue them in.

My latest windows was win7 (which I still prefer over anything if it was supported). Since then Ive been on pretty much any Linux distro available except the Arch ones. I like eye candy but also find it a distraction to the work I want to do (I do BCI). For the last year Ive been using Antix because of speed but have just nowt installed BookwormPuppy. Have to say this is a whole new experience. The amount of setup needed is insane, the workarounds to get stuff up and runnning is ridiculous. Im struggling to unzip an archive. I wonder if it would look better if you had added a sliver of thicker material between the first two letters rather than an open slot. The unfiltered light coming through the gap is a little distracting, and a thicker area would just look a little darker, which would probably look good. Or you could even use the slicer to swap back to blue filament for the thickened sliver.

Hey HLModTech, so I've been printing for about 2 years now and I have two filament printers, both Elegoo 4 pro max and Neptune 3. I also have an Elegoo resin printer. I use Cura and Tinkercad for my slicing and modeling. One thing I wish I had done differently is getting a multicolor printer.

I get that. I really dig the AMS on the Bambu P1S. I also have Geeetech A10M & A10T machines. They mix colors which was cool, but sometimes a hassle. I found this reddit thread about color swapping an Elgoo machine. Not sure it would work with yours, but the info was interesting. www.reddit.com/r/elegoo/comments/18g9xek/pausingchanging_filament_with_cura_and_neptune/

Question. I have a basic TinkerCad design that I'm trying to export to 3D print. It's basically a 40x40x8 mm rounded rectangle with 2 40 mm round posts sticking straight up aligned 3mm from diagonal corners. When I EXPORT it to .stl and import that into my slicer (Orca) and slice, I get an error saying "A G-code path goes beyond the plate boundaries.". I tried to print to see what happens and indeed it did attempt to move forward off the plate after it laid down the prime line. I'm printing on a FlashForge 5M Pro and have successfully printed many designs I've exported from TinkerCad in the past. I can't see any reason why it should be attempting to make this move. Any idea what could cause this and how do I fix? Appreciate any help.
@HLModTech5 күн бұрын
That message means your design is larger than the built plate of the printer. When it has happened to me... I had an extra item accidentally selected when I exported. They were far apart so when I zooned out in the slicer I could see the extra "garbage" that had been exported.
@HLModTech5 күн бұрын

@christopherlyons76135 күн бұрын
Hi. Thanks. I don't have anything else in the TinkerCad file (that I'm aware of or can see) and I directly selected the object to export. When you do that shouldn't it disregard anything else that would be in your design if anything is there? I'll try to send you a link. Thanks.
