This is such a killer album. I saw Michael and the Krewe at the Detroit International Jazz Festival, the year after Katrina devastated New Orleans, and the festival went all in on inviting musicians from there, to give them a payday and have us send them some love. This is a treasure.

Does NO ONE know this music? Michael is great. I never listened to Kool or Sun Ra, but Michael is great. He does need to expand his catalog somewhat though.

The world is a lesser because my fathers' no longer spreading the joy his his passion to those who got him. There's not much a person can devote of 40 years to, maybe marriage or career. He was married to his art and the byproduct of that Union ,the students, show his devotion to your one true love, Christ & your music. I miss. you everyday Kidd.

This is a difficult release to find, but a real gem in the vast discography of Sun Ra. The two-CD set is the complete October 1990 performance of 2.5 hours of The Year 2000 Myth Science Arkestra, with special guests Charles Davis (baritone sax), Talvin Singh and Elson Nascimento (percussion) and India Cooke (violin). It is inspiring music and the flow from vocal chants, big band swing, free jazz and avant-garde is incredible. Sun Ra propels the musicians in a recording which captures the latter years of a true artistic genius.

I saw this at the time it aired. Does anyone notice that nasty son of a bitch at 06:50 sucks his fingers and then continues to touch the cake. And Joy noticed it and tried to cut her own piece. I would never order a cake from that filthy bastard after seeing this.
