thank u so much for the video!! just happened to me too with the same lens. What helped for me to remove the last part is to push the inner ring towards the camera while pushing the outer ring away from the camera :)

For all those who are stuck at last step. This is the working final method to remove the lens: When you come to the bottom. Break all four plastic tabs that holds the last plastic part in place. Release and rotate the lens to a position before it comes to a stop. Now, try to lift the last plastic part with your fingers as you rotate the lens with your other hand. Be careful! Do not use force here. Hopefully the plastic part will come loose and you can rotate your lens to the right position.

Why would the remainder lens just 'fall out?' The bayonet mount - which was stuck - was still intact. You left out a critical part in the video - you could not remove the last remaining part of the lens - the blue tape on the lens is on the bottom. The next shot is the lens falling out with the blue tape on top. You didn't show how you turned the lens.
@Tinacasephotography
@Tinacasephotography 5 жыл бұрын
Hi Walt - sorry about that and yes you are right. I couldn't show it because it actually did just fall out when I was doing this. That whole part will be different for everyone based on how stuck that lens is on your camera. That's the problem with it to begin with because the threads are worn differently on the camera and lens. Also this was a 7D and other cameras will have differences that makes it inconsistent. Sorry about that, hoped it helps you in some way.

@@waltbe So what happened is that piece fell out on it's own after working it a little bit. So each case will be different depending on how "stuck" it was to begin with. The camera still works, but the lens is crap.

i removed the ribbon and my lens is still stuck, all the written tutorials say "break the four tabs holding the plastic in place" or "Pull the plastic up over the gold-plated studs while turning the lens." but i dont know what this means. i dont see four tabs and i dont understand what the 'plastic over the gold plated studs' is. can someone help me, i need to save my poor camera :(

Hi there - What I might suggest is getting something like a strong piece of foam or cardboard to insert into the center. I was fortunate that the lens fell of almost by itself after I pulled the ribbon out. but if you try putting pressure from the INSIDE of the lens and seeing if that helps, that might be the method. Good luck to you.

In your first step the Glass lens was removed however you did not show how to remove that and I’m having difficulties. Can you please explain how to remove the glass ones in your first step?
@Tinacasephotography
@Tinacasephotography 7 жыл бұрын
Hi Paul, The glass fell out simply for me - I was surprised. What you might want to do is get some sort of plunger or suction cup to help lift it out gently. I found a suction cup from a shower device that adheres to the tile. Try that as an example.

Hi there, I would not recommend doing this for a lens that expensive. I recommend taking it to a reputable shop to fix. The 50mm lens was under $100, so to me it wasn't a problem to remove it and know the cost was not TOO high.
@Delhiocity

Tina Case Photography I was about to break my lens in order to get it out but then I thought of waiting for you to reply. My lens may be expensive but when I took it to the Canon service center, they asked me for $80 to the job. They said they'll use force to remove the lens and if anything breaks in the process, I'll have to pay the additional amount for damages. Since both my camera and lens are no longer under warranty.

Hey bro! I followed your steps up to the last one which is removing the ribbon. Does it automatically will fall off after you remove the final ribbon? Coz you didn't show the twisting part, it skipped. You just shown us it was already removed. In my case, I still can't fully twist the lens after all the steps I've done. What should I do? Thanks!
@Tinacasephotography
@Tinacasephotography 7 жыл бұрын
It did automatically fall off which is why that step wasn't shown, so I had to show it after that. Perhaps give it a little tug? Remember I recommend this at your own risk. I also followed this kzbin.info/www/bejne/gqW3cmWkmMSLlZI and this www.theroastedroot.net/removing-a-stuck-canon-50mm-f1-8-camera-lens/

He have a good Band(they all can pretty good sing) but without there his voice is broken and he should sing in Clubs other Songs with a guitar. But I think he dont will do this. Its painful to me.
