Just want to make a point that common sense has prevailed tonight. We thank the elected councillors for rejecting the development application for 6 Blake court Truganina. Cr McAliney you have served your constituents well and we applaud your bravery and wise decision making. A development of this size would render our living situation untenable. Cnr Khan comments are much like his lifestyle - brash, bold and downright out of touch with the everyday working person - the people he is supposed to support. He chooses to support big $ developers who don’t reside in our municipality and want to make a fast buck, never looking back at the destruction left in their wake. Our children still play in our court, this is a usual activity on the weekends. Dogs do roam, bbqs are a regular occurrence and we are neighbours in the true sense. Cr McAliney has our vote going forward and we applaud her community spirit and her professionalism. Her decision was not made on emotion, it was made out of fairness, equity and the spirit in which she undertakes her role as a councillor - to represent those who has entrusted her to this position. We stand with you Wyndham council if there is a VCAT application, just as you have stood with us. We are so proud to be part of this community and thank you for your due diligence.
