@@Earthcitizen4609 The HDM is a little louder, has onboard dsp, and is hdnet enabled which opens up more possibilities. If you don’t need onboard crossover to hook to subs, dsp, hdnet, and you like the look of the 745, then the 745 is a great speaker.

HDM 45-A is the best plastic box in this price range. I have the HD 35-A.

@DJ Teddy Jetts, Rane is great stuff. Have used only Rane mixers for the last 20+ years. Have seventy two and Rane twelve at this time, and the Pioneer Rev7 was my first venture into first AiO controller.

@DJ Teddy Jetts Not a shady dealer bro. Authorized dealer. Dealer can’t get what Pioneer DJ won’t send to them. Pioneer directly told me that they didn’t have stock to replace defective units. They wanted me to send the unit to an authorized repair center. I didn’t want a repaired unit, but a replacement. My dealer was great throughout this whole ordeal, and I have been refunded. I have been doing this for over 40 years, and trust me this is not the first time I’ve dealt with a manufacturer on a warranty issue. If my dealer wasn’t an authorized dealer of Pioneer I would have never received direct phone calls from Pioneer DJ direct. My dealer facilitated that.

That's unfortunate, i was just about to pull the trigger and purchase it today, but now im having second thoughts, im glad i looked to see if any people were having issues and it seems like a good amount are.

@@MKGOTBEATS I think that most people are not having issues with the unit. It is a dope unit if you get one without issues. It’s the slight chance of getting a lemon that should worry you. I was dealing with Pioneer DJ USA, and they are horrible to deal with. Where are you located?

If anything the software companies will try to phase them out not allowing them to operate on new versions...ie Serato, even though the hardware is clearly capable of operating with the upgrades... DJ Flowtunes It really depends on what you are looking for in a subwoofer. If you want the sub in subwoofer a lot of the mainstream single 18’s don’t deliver. I think the ks118 is -6db at 41hz. The ssp118 for comparison is -3db at 30hz. It would probably take 2-3 ks118’s to keep up with 1 ssp118 in the 30hz-60hz range. I will post some links comparing the ssp118 to jbl’s srx818sp and srx828sp. Also links comparing it to some other subs. Also, The sub is not that bad moving around. It's fairly small and easily grabbed by the handles. The caster board also makes it easier to move. Lots of the subs from EV, JBL, QSC, Yorkville, etc, are very nice. If they give someone what they need bass wise, by all means go for it. If i was still a young man in my 20's I think I would have purchased 4 JBL SRX828sp's to go with my RCF HDM 45a's. I can get those new for $1500, so 4 would cost the same as 2 ssp118's. However think of the room and weight of 4 of those. Even comparing the physical size of 1 SRX828sp to the ssp118 it would be hard for one person to move around and load and unload. The weight is only like 20 pounds heavier I think.

I actually clicked on all the links you posted and read all the information that David Lee posted in the forums regarding the JBLs, Yorkvilles and KW181s and to be honest the man knows his stuff and obviously took the time out to research before building his subwoofers. I would love to be able to hear Bassboss subwoofers in person but they hardly ever come out to the DMV area for their road shows and guitar center don't carry display units of them. I bought the KS118s cause I needed high output, small and not so heavy form factor (I ain't getting any younger) and of course price consideration. Additionally my loudspeakers are the QSC KW range (152s and 153s) so it made going with the KS118 a bit easier. Even though the Yorkville ES18p sounded big and full it was huge and cumbersome to carry around despite its recessed wheels and the price difference wasn't much between it and the KS118s so I couldn't justify going with the ES18p. However, had I tested any of the Bassboss subwoofers I am sure I may have held back on purchasing the KS118 or even replaced all my inventory with the Bassboss lines. Another set of speakers I considered were the RCFs however, a friend of mine who owns the RCF 9004-AS said he was unimpressed cause according to him the the sub peaked too quickly considering its high output numbers. So RCF was a no for me considering that RCF is on the expensive side of thing pro audio. Thanks for the banter. I appreciate your knowledge.

@@desmorider747 Thank you for the kind words regarding my set up. The KW181 was a fantastic subwoofer however there is a huge difference in sound compared to the KS118. I did a side by side comparison and with the KW181 you could hear the bass very well but with the KS118 not only can you hear the bass but the bass physically impacts you like it moves the clothes on your body. I sold my KW181s ASAP. However, I have not had the chance to use them due to Covid 19 drama since most venues have reduced their capacity but as soon as I get the chance will use them. I bought 2 KS118 subwoofers. The only downside is that it's heavier than the KW181 by almost 20 pounds but still lighter and less cumbersome than the Yorkville or any comparable speaker in output levels. I saw your video on the sound test on the RCF speakers sounded real nice...

You can use a 705as2 with it, however it will come no where close to keeping up with these. Just to put it into perspective, I think a good match subwoofer wise for a pair of these would be 4 8004's if you really like bass.

DJ Sergiu Bulgar They are everything the art745’s are plus more. Just the fact that it has all of the dsp settings and the box can be hi passed is a huge plus. It’s just as loud as the art745, and has 400 more watts. 400 watts is not enough to notice by ear.

DJ Sergiu Bulgar Ok. If you have the 745’s I wouldn’t rush out to purchase the HDM45’s. You won’t notice the additional 400 watts as louder. I think that RCF rates both speakers with same max spl. So I would say that they aren’t louder than the 745’s.

@@desmorider747 yes, in official spech they are rated same 133 db max i think having 400 w more power mean having a better control of drivers, and so they archive better sonic quality Im almost confident on that. But as i say, for Live performance or HD audio it will be noticible, not on poor mp3's I also have Montarbo fancy 3000€ per peace speakers and know what is good sound, but tginking for eficiency, 745 are just the best choise for every DJ you can visit my chanel, my vlogs from events and see what gear i use Allen Heath Q16, Dynacord CMS1000, Montarbo Full 1018, DB Technologies IG3T and 18H etc but when Im tired to cary all this complexive stuff, and need just two speaker, no subs, just two speaker and my Denon Prime 4, this 745 are only that give me the sonic feeling like there was an sub some where, absolutly univeraal speakers
