Everyone seems to have trouble grasping this. If there’s no fumble, it can’t be a fumblerooski. A fumblerooski is not just any trick play a team dreams up. Remember when Boise State beat Oklahoma in the Fiesta Bowl with a couple of gadget plays? Neither one of them was a fumblerooski. Other gadget plays have their own names. They’re not all fumblerooskis. Everyone just needs to round out their football vocabulary so we don’t start seeing fullback traps and seeing dolts yelling “fumblerooski!”

You neglected to show one of the most pivotal fake punts. 1972 AFC Championships game in Pittsburgh. Dolphins punter, Larry Seiple, faked a punt and it helped Miami beat the Steelers. The Dolphins went and won the Superbowl and finished 17-0.

"Greatest Punt Fakes of All Time"...and you leave out the 3 greatest fake punts in NFL history? 1. Bengals' punter Jeff Hayes - 1986 MNF vs Pittsburgh (61-yd TD run, trailing in the 4th quarter, to win the game) 2. Dolphins' punter/TE Larry Seiple - 1972 AFC Championship Game at Pittsburgh (37-yard run) 3. Giants' LB Gary Reasons - 1990 NFC Championship Game at San Francisco (30-yard run)

Other than the Nebraska-Miami game (4:35), these other games are not really Fumble Rooskies since the ball never leaves the hands of any player. The Fumble Rooskie is where the center or QB puts the ball on the ground and another player like a lineman picks it up and runs with it.

Doubt that there is any film of it, but in 1963, the Steelers were trailing Dallas 19-17 with about 4 minutes to go. The Steelers had to win to have a shot at the Conference title the following week. On fourth and sixteen at their own 12 yard line, the Steeler punter (also their starting qb, Ed Brown) threw a 40 plus yard completion to Red Mack, even though the entire Dallas team knew it was coming. The Steelers went on to score a TD (after converting a fourth and one instead of trying a 45 plus yard field goal into the wind) and won, 24-19. Then they lost to New York the next week.

You missed the Browns fake punt versus New Orleans in N.O. in October 2010. The line blocked so well they made a hole big enough to drive a big fat truck/kicker through. Ended up going for 68 yards.
