When I started investing in my first mechanical keyboard, we only got Filcos where I live. About 9 years later, my custom kits alu 65% 65$ from Chinese makers are the best way to spend time on the hobby is to try to improve the quality, or the sound, or any part that I can DIY for 1/3 of the Filco price is insane. Competition and the fact that more and more people want to get a good keeb is how we get the latest tech at a very affordable price, I'm supporting the budget keeb, they are not perfect, and there's always room for DIY.

But then there's Lucky 65 v2 which is: - in stock; - aluminum body; - ball catch mount; - magnetic PCB; - VIA compatible; and - South-facing Tri-Mode RGB PCB (despite its 1.2mm PCB and plate mount stabs only compatibility) . All these jam packed features and more beginner-friendly for almost less than 60$. I think group buys are not that worth it anymore when the Lucky 65 v2 exists. Nevertheless its a win for consumers because consumers have more options
@2323-m3j2 ай бұрын
The unlucky65 V2 does not have a magnetic pcb but a magnetic dongle storage and in Vietnam they exclusively sell 1.6mm non-flex cut pcb which only cost around $38 that is cheaper compared to other countries with only 1.2mm flex cuts pcb available that we can get $40+ or depending on the store if they do sale for $38 but the difference of pcb's is really a bummer which is literally unfair to us and it's also a hit and miss because a lot of us are having a problem in it's pcb but for the price, it's good enough for beginners in alu boards.

This keyboard is, in no way, a good deal. This is average at best for what is offered. When you get the options you would want, it exceeds the costs of other keyboards in the budget space. Literally just bought a EPOMAKER MS68 Wireless Gaming Keyboard with 0.85” Screen, CNC Aluminum Alloy chassis, Bluetooth 5.0/2.4ghz/Wired Hot Swappable with VIA for $64.99. And it goes on sale regularly. On top of this, you can REGULARLY find hot-swappable and VIA (sometimes both) at the $60-70 mark.

I don’t understand why a collector would want something so cheap. If you’re collecting don’t you want something new, interesting, and artistic? Plus entry level products don’t tend to hold their value.

@@ScoopedBar I guess I just don't understand entry level products. Even when I'm getting into something new I tend to skip them and try to go for stuff that will hold its value. That way if the hobby isn't for me I can get out without losing 50% of my investment.
@altair30902 ай бұрын
@@AlliePaintsCustom keyboards are not always about value. Yes, the higher end boards hold their value better but the target for entry level boards are beginners and casual who might judt wanna try something more Premium, Something with higher customisation, something that is personal to them and Entry level boards fill that void. Custom keyboards are a Huge commitment and a pretty expensive hobby at the higher end and before trying to invest $300-500+ in a keyboard maybe you would like to gain some experience and explore what you actually like in a keyboard. Beginner boards are a White canvas and helps people find their preferences and things they wouldn't want in their own board. While a good chunk of the hobby are collectors/ enthusiasts, the keyboard scene has blown up drastically in the past 2-3 years. I entered the hoddy where the only "Budget" keyboard option was to get a cheap keyboard and solder on your own switches because everything was just hella expensive, and right now for a normal person who wanna explore a more Premium typing experience can get into the hobby for $100 and feel satisfied with their purchase.
