HI This only works to clear the two lights together, Brake and 4x4. For just the brake light, you can try this: Reset Your Brake Warning Light Insert the key (or key fob) in the ignition. Move the key to position 2, but don't start the ignition. Open the driver's door and wait for approximately 10 seconds. After completing the above three steps, the brake pad lights should reset!

@@murkoutdoors i had the transfer case opened and the parts are new. Sorry i need to clarify my abs and break light and 4x4 is on. Its stuck driving fine in 4 wheel drive.

HI, the only way i was able to fix this issue was with the manual crank tool. (i once had to take some long needle nosed pliers and reach back to pull it forward) But outside that, its been the manual crank tool. here is a vid: kzbin.info/www/bejne/o3_dkqmDnb6ij7c

@@murkoutdoors Hi you mean the Z shaped BMW Allen key? I have been able to manually open the moonroof completely using the Allen key and then I’ve tried to initialise the sunroof using diagnostic + your method but it doesn’t work. Once opened manually it will close when initialising but won’t open again. On diagnostics it says ‘drive for sunshade’ which probable relates to the jammed sunshade. Is there a way I can manually bring forward the sunshade which is stuck is open position.

@@user-ln2ou8mr6d if you can reach it with a pair of vice grips, or needle nose, try pulling it manually forward while operating the button. you might need two people to do it for simplicity. Everything i can find is that the passenger side gear mechanism is notorious for going bad and getting off track. Sorry i can't be of more help. Good luck. Take care, be well.

@@user-ln2ou8mr6d Did you find a solution for this? I have the exact same problem. I've manually closed the back part of the roof using the allen key but the shade is stuck open. I just want to get it all closed, don't need to use it.

You might have to use the manual crank for that. I saw another vid and his was stuck, and actually had to use a screwdriver to get it started back. Wish i could be of better help. good luck.

Try removing the positive terminal of the battery for a few minutes. Then repeat the steps. If it still does not fix the light, then you have a different issue, outside my knowledge. Good luck.

If it only comes back when you hit the brake, then this is likely your transfer case actuator. Well beyond my expertise and knowledge though. Sorry the fix I provided did not help you. Good luck.

After trying this, if it does not work. You can remove the positive terminal on the battery. Then put the battery terminal back on and repeat steps. If it still does not fix, you need to get a code reader to see what the fault code is. One like this for example: amzn.to/3M1Ndfb

If you mean the sunshade, ive not seen any good videos on this. I thought about making one soon, but not sure if i'll have time before i sell mine. I have found this info, in case it might help you: "There's no need to remove the entire sunroof assembly/headliner. However you must remove the 2 glass panels. 1) Remove front+rear glass. Remove the water drain channel. 2) If vent mode operates, put the roof into vent mode. If vent mode on the sunshade does not operate, splitting the panels will be tricky and may require a complete drop+replacement. Undo the 3 torx screws for front sunshade. Close vent mode and move the headliners back enough for clearance to remove front sunshade. Remove the vent mode mesh grille. 3) Undo rear shade screws, remove the springs under the black railing. Remove the rear shade. 4) Install in reverse order. 5) MANUALLY CRANK the sunshade, for this you must slightly drop headliner in rear to see the sunshade motor. Remove D pillar trim for this. Do the entire cranking twice to check for resistance. Finally crank shut. 6) Now you MUST re-initialize the entire roof, if you do not, then you will break the plastic (I made this mistake), and will have to drop the frame to replace them.
