everyone is so mean to stamp guy...... :'( he's not wei..... he's not *that* weird! he just has a rare interest that's strengthened by the fact that it's tied to fond memories! listen, i'm sure some of you have seen what it's like in artist circles of social media. when someone has an incredibly rare interest that has no other fans and has no more available material to indulge in, you MAKE the material YOURSELF and hope hope *hope* your PERSISTENCE IN YOUR PASSION CATCHES SOME TINY BIT OF ATTENTION SO YOU HAVE PEOPLE TO TALK TO ABOUT IT

It’s not really a challenger because of the outcry of the west, Nintendo decided to yeet poor Tingle from the franchise despite his spin-off games being fairly successful in Japan.
@LittleBeanGreen3 күн бұрын
I think Tingle's popularity outside of the west still has him on top but there's no reason to assume with more games and perhaps a reveal of a more...complicating Stamp Guy, that he can't be on equal footing in the future.

This is the problem with Nintendo. Maybe it is their desire to appeal to children more than adults.. but they don't seem to be interested or capable of designing modern-era Puzzles in 3D worlds. Instead, when they do so, they do so in 2D. Is it because it is easier and less time consuming? We'll never know. It is a safe product, and not one worth celebrating. Specially not at $60! If the 3DS existed, it would have been an acceptable $40 like a Link between Worlds. I also don't think that @9:35 "a step in the right direction" should be a sentence said out loud for a 38-year old franchise on a company that has YEARS of experience in the market. The truth is, they don't care about the lore or the older generations, nor the franchise being more than it is.. a cash cow. Slap "playable Zelda" on the trailer and people will buy it!! Even if it means that she basically acts as a Link and has little to NO personality whatsoever.
@LittleBeanGreen5 күн бұрын
I think they think less about the puzzle and more about the solution and if it can be solved in more than one way, it's almost more simple by definition. I think it's possible for a product to be safe and still be enjoyed, though I will agree with you on the price but that's not something that keeps me up at night. If a series reinvents itself over 38 years and some of those reinventions are missteps, then I think it's perfectly acceptable to say that a particular iteration is "a step in the right direction." And honestly, as long as things are consistent within a game or when a set of games is billed as a sequel, then that's fine by me.

LA is heavily inspired in Twin Peaks, a story about a detective coming to a secluded town to investigate the mysterious death of a girl... in a sense, the town is the murder. given this is a kid's game, the purpose of the dream, waking up not in terror from a nightmare but with a proper conclusion, is so you can remember the dream once awake; Marin just wants to be remembered, after whatever casted her away to the seas, damned to be a dream to be had.

I'd like to imagine the Zelda board team meeting for this one; "We need a mildly delusional manchild who operates flying apparatuses to grant the player key items in niche and often out of the way locations... yep that rings no bells, bring in the stamp guy!"

seems like a very small niche to have two separate characters fill it 😅

Weirdos of Zelda NOT Tingle nor Stamp Guy: ~ OOT: Phonogram man (he wants to assault the kid who messed up the windmill) Marathon man (he becomes Il Piantissimo in Super Mario Sunshine!) ~ MM: N64: The fisherman (he keeps a picture of a Gerudo in his hut!) 3DS: The invisible soldier (he becomes a Peeping Tom!) ~ WW: Maggie (she wants to develop a relationship with a Moblin!) Her Father (he despises postmen… and doesn’t remember Link like most people in TOTK!) ~ TP: Fado (YOU CAN’T ENTER HIS HOUSE! Imagine him being “the neighbor” in Hello Neighbor…) Agitha (whose only company are gold bugs; she doesn’t know that snails are mollusks!) ~ SS: The fortune teller (who looks like one of those Cabbage Patch Kids…) The Party Wheel guy (he’s rich enough to ruin Skyloft’s economy!) ~ BOTW: The creepy adult man and Zora child “couple”… (You know what? Just don’t!…) FLOWERBLIGHT GANON! (Do I need to explain?) Vilia (NOPE!) ~ TOTK: Cece (she’s needed to give Link the open hood… Ratatoskr has made a huge complaint about that…) ~ LA: The homicidal shop man… (Do I need to explain?) ~ OOS: King Moblin (whatever you do don’t p!$$ him off…) ~ OOA: The mysterious sword-making ritual guy… (VERY SUS!) ~ EOW: Blossu (suffering gender identity disorder… Help th- er.. I mean… HIM!)
