Thanks for this! A travesty that no one ever stages his operas.

Yes, there is still a lot to discover. Unfortunately, operas are expensive!

I cannot believe my eyes and ears. Is what I hear solely this Harmonicorde in one take ??

Indeed, what you hear and see is only the harmonicorde, following the original registrations.

You are absolutely right, I agree completely. Unfortunately, I cannot change that, it is automatically generated by KZbin. I don't earn a cent for it and it upsets me. You can watchthis video adfree on vimeo: vimeo.com/828232886

Very nice. How to get the score ?
@jenskluge7188
@jenskluge7188 Жыл бұрын
very nice. Its tricky to get the balance right with the long note and often the organist is left to the mercy of the organ. Here it's just right I think.

Was it not possible to begin the piece with the organ's blower turned off, then turned on once the arm and pedal clusters were in place with all the registers on?

I took the first option indicated by the composer in the introduction: "Das Stück beginnt ex abrupto mit der grösstmöglichen Lautstärke"

Hello Joris, thank you for sharing this exquisite document from early years ^.^ It really is like from another planet. Do you think you could feel into music like that again today? Greetings Dietmar
@JorisVerdinOfficial
@JorisVerdinOfficial 2 жыл бұрын
Hi Dietmar, good question. I think you have a chance to realize it if you recreate the conditions. First of all, you need the equipment, like a Rhodes, a fretless bass guitar, a genuine Fender amps, analog effects etc.. It should not be more difficult than "historical / authentic" performance practice. And as important: you need to find the right mood and energy of the time we people believed in the long awaited Age of Aquarius. - that never came.

You only buy tickets before when you fear the hall will be sold out... so for an organ concert??? Not extremely likely.

The ideal piece for this organ. I'm sure the first chord must have caused a number of cardiac arrests.

How exciting to find this video and to see this organ. I actually own an identical organ serial number 98. Mine is about to undergo some restoration and I’m very excited to hear how it might sound afterwards. I’ve owned mine for about 25 years but because the bellows are leaking have never been able to hear it as it should fully sound.
