School records helped prove my great grandmother had lived in a tiny village in a goldmining town in the late 1800s. 1 single entry gave me confirmation of her age and presence, and confirmed a rumour that she had been there.

Are there any Cherokees who know if Catherine Tame Doe existed? I've found her in my line but there are a few sites that say fictional but then some don't. I've found Cheraw on my dad's side and supposedly our Weaver side is Cherokee and descends from Tame Doe and Moytoy

In Vietnam 1966-67, I saw a hospital ship a few times off of the coast. They saved many lives for whom the field hospitals couldn't help. All combat veterans loved our medics, corpsmen, nurses, doctors, and buddies who helped to save our lives. Thanks to all of them.

The succession to the throne of the UK is determined by The Act of Settlement 1701. What happened before that is irrelevant. The true Plantagenent blood still runs in the Royal Family courtesy of Henry the Lion and Mathilda. Mr A. Lisowski.

During Reconstruction, African Americans also put ads in newspapers looking for family members who were seperated from them during slavery or escaped.

I'm apparently a mayflower descendent, however I was born in England so it means very little to me which is a bit of a shock to the American side of my family.

Joke. After one generation, how to know if it is grandfather or uncle ? ... Or your uncles baker. Who was in fact the child of the secretary of the school, whose real father was ypour grand-grand-uncle, but as both he and the woman were drunk that day... ...But, for true, seen he came out of a cloister ... etc... who was really Charles the Bald, as a bald couldn't be a Lord, even less a King... Wasn't it a ...kippa ? In his tongue, Salian, it was Karel de Kale. His name was de Kale. Kalo nymus ... Hum. And, Clothilde, Aldegonde, Brunhilde, Kroiemhilde, Irmegarde, ... AND ... Judith...

My family is supposed to be related to the Sweat surname. My surname of origin is Rogers. I have found both surnames on documents from the state they both lived in at the same time, Tennessee. Howevet, how do I know which of the Sweat people are related to me?

It's rare - almost unheard of to be honest - that I can watch an informative documentary-style video like this one, without being seriously disenamoured with the person who is delivering the information. Usually they have not thought through how to convey the substance and they are just not much fun listening to. But this different! It is excellent, with visuals matching what is being said, and what is being said is communicated clearly, intelligently and concisely. If I were a school master ( which I'm not) I'd give you an A+ for this, so well done!
