@projectracecar How's the mamba turbo holding up longevity/reliability wise? Doing a RB25 swap in a s13 and looking for a decent turbo capable of 400+ on stock manifold. Found the Mamba and went down the rabbit hole researching and found your video 😊 oh also did you figure out the boost creep?

I am in the same position as you. I got a £200 Yaris, it has cost me £350 to get it drivable and I used Rustoleum Rust reformer but to no avail, differing MOT garages have all put on the advisory underbody is rusted. It's funny as my sister stiffed me with it and not once did they mention, rust, the chip on the windscreen, do MOT testers residing near the coast as thats where it originates from. Dont ever buy a car which is near coast.
@MrNicktheBeatАй бұрын
Halfords Autocentre Condemned my 20 year old Yaris and suggested I scrap it due to rust. My buddy did a great job welding it for £200 and it passed it's MOT. The car is still going strong 3 MOTs later. Great wee car, cheap to run and really reliable if maintained properly.

This stuff is fine if you keep it topped up. It consists of 50 50 split bitumen and waxoyl. Which will stop any rust progressing through displacing moisture and air. I check my arches yearly and top it up. No issues yet.

I just bought a GTT about 2 months ago and it’s been sitting in the garage ever since I bought it. I was wondering if you could you send me your full updated parts list(I know along the way yall changed stuff out because you had certain problems and later figured this part was best) all the way down to the little stuff. I’ve been trying to find a 500hp build and I like your setup.

Maximum Rev limit is determined by piston mean speed only. High Rod to Stroke ratio is a nice to have thing but it doesn't dictate where is the rev limiter going to be.

I want a skyline GTT , but is driving on the right side the same as driving on the left? or does it take some time go get used to? Lol
@Intransversable8 ай бұрын
It does. It takes practice. I keep moving to the left without realizing it. Originally I was worried about shifting. Turns out it was more about staying in my lane. Lol. That & my wipers & turn signals are swapped. Kept turning on my wipers to turn. Lol.

I grew up in NZ where the used JDM car market has always been great. Skylines were not an uncommon sight, and prices were as reasonable as any other comparative car, so I was lucky to own a couple of GTT models a while back. I had an R32 GTS-4 sedan, and an R33 GTS25T Sedan. Both great cars, but really, there was nothing magical about them that made them inherently worth a lot more than other cars with similar qualities. So much so that I often found myself choosing to drive my Ford AUII XR8 Falcon over the skylines all the time. At the time the skylines and the AU falcons were on par price wise. I actually swapped the R33 for a manual AUIII XR6 because it was objectively the better car. Now that same XR6 is worth 6-10k at the most, and the skyline is "worth" 20-30k, all because of this US price bubble. Without that factor skylines would still only be 10-15k cars. In my eyes, Skyline prices are absolutely over inflated compared to the "amount" of car you're getting. But of course, the market decides the price, and not my opinion so it is what it is. You have people in the US willing to pay big bucks so that is what people are going to ask for them. I think once most US buyers have satisfied that dream of owning the elusive skyline the demand will drop, though I think prices will stagnate and maybe dip slightly for a while rather than plummet. But in the long run, I do think skylines are a safe bet as far as appreciation goes, because they are such an iconic car from a bygone golden era of motoring. But hey, that's just my 2 cents.

Great to hear pov from different countries, skyline prices are absolutely over inflated when compared with what your getting for your money. Your paying for that nostalgia really these days not the "performance" value :)
