Nice job on the differential fluid change. Does the pump come with the Red line gear oil or is it separate?

Bought a new car one time that had been on the lot nearly a year. They took it in the shop and put it on a car shaker to get the oil good and mixed. lmao

bro shaking it like it's chocolate milk. it is 1000% unnecessary, doesn't hurt, but just... absolutely not needed. Give it a quick upside down then back if it makes you feel better, but you do not need to shake it vigorously, at all. Everything is suspended in oil, nothing "settles".

Haha, thanks. It's a habit I picked up after reading about the additive fallout problem people had with Pennzoil Ultra Platinum, just kept doing it since it doesn't hurt.

So your next oil change, you should use liqui molly . Specially if you find that your having to add oil between oil changes. That penzoil isnt good imo . I have a Es350 and had to add a little oil between oil changes. But i switched to Liqui moly with moligen and havent had to add a single drop since. Make sure if you buy liqui moly it says it has Moligen. I ordered mine from summit racing.

I haven't had any issue with Pennzoil Ultra Platinum in any of our cars in the past 5 years, none of the cars have oil consumption. I don't have experience with Liqui Moly and I probably won't be switching soon.

I was expecting to see some winter tires but you installed a UHP A/S tire instead, why? I'm in the process of trying to find a wheel I like for my summer wheels. I swap the OEM tires over to them and use my OEM wheels for a set of winter tires.

It's because winters in my area are too cold for summer tires but not cold enough to mandate winter tires. I used to run Michelin A/S 4 tires year-round and love the way they handle, but figured with the GRC I'd appreciate the upgrade to dedicated summer tires. As for the wheels, I absolutely love the way the OEM wheels look on the car so I'll keep using those for the summer for a while.

Good job, I also do all my own oil changes. Make sure you keep all the receipts for the new oil, filter and drain plug washer just in case. What's the oil filter number. Did you get the filter from a Toyota dealer?

Thanks. This car takes the standard 90915-YZZN1 filter from the regular Corolla, I got it from the dealer for 7 bucks.

A common Toyota filter. Parts guy just turned around and grabbed one off a shelf. I keep a maintenance journal, receipts in there. Oil change - cheap insurance

did you rebalance the wheels also did you reprogram the tpms as you swapped wheels
@vanisshen4467
@vanisshen4467 Жыл бұрын
I bought these wheels and tires as a set from Tire Rack, so they were already mounted and balanced with TPMS sensors. The programming procedure is super simple, basically go in the settings on the dash and select register new sensors, then drive the car for 30 minutes, and you're done. It also stores 2 sets of sensors so swapping wheels is a breeze.

I really like those new wheels. Bad technique my friend, you really should be using jack stands in case the main jack fails, just a heads up. If your floor jack fails it would do a lot of damage to your brake rotor and maybe suspension. Just curious why you didn't use the stock wheel nuts? I can't wait to get my GRC.
@vanisshen4467
@vanisshen4467 Жыл бұрын
Thanks for the advice! I originally had jack stands ready but my jack wouldn't reach the front jack point so I took the risk this time, I will find other positions to lift the car and use the jack stands next time. The stock wheel uses flat seat wheel nuts, whereas the TSV uses conical seat, so Tire Rack provided those wheel nuts when I ordered the wheels.

@@vanisshen4467 Enjoy my friend, by the way how is the ride quality of your GRC? Really stiff or comfortable? I currently have deposits with to dealerships for a GRC, so hopefully I'll get mine soon. Just a heads up, I owned a 2020 Veloster N, actually selling it tomorrow to get ready for my GRC, and I had to buy new tires to pass the safety, because my Pirelli tires are cracked all over due to the cold winter here in Canada. My advice is put your Michelin summer Tires inside the house to prevent degradation and cracking from low temperatures.
@vanisshen4467
@vanisshen4467 Жыл бұрын
@@dougmaverick3287 The ride is definitely firm but nothing crazy, the steering is a bit lighter than I'd like but the suspension provides tons of feedback. I love daily driving it, the problem is everytime I drive it I subconsciously take the longer route, haha. Also thanks for the heads up, I store the summer set in my basement until it warms up so there should be no problem in this regard.

+BeastDynastyGamers I never noticed fluctuating, during a cold start at 40F the RPM stays at 2K+ for 15-20 seconds then starts to drop gradually to around 1.2K after 1 minute. (I don't turn on the A/C until the car is almost fully warmed up)
