This game deserves a proper remake. Give it a proper modern cel shading look and hand painted textures. Redo controls and streamline some of the repetitive stuff. Boom, a 9/10 game there, easily. I never had a problem with DS touchscreen so it's a 9/10 for me anyway.

Donkey Kong Land 2 and 3 on Game Boy are basically worse versions/copies of Donkey Kong Country 2 and 3 on the SNES so there's no reason to add them to NSO.

I have my doubts on whether this will be seen or not, but hey! Huge Octopath II fan here! I definitely understand just wanting to see the final story segment online, time is hard to come across and between life and other games sometimes you just do not have it in you. I *definitely* recommend playing through it yourself if you can though, it wraps everything together with a rather *unexpected* bow on top, and the conclusive weight it left me with was just. Augh. At the very least, so glad to hear people are still playing through this gem, it is extremely underrated! And keep up the good work y'all over at GVG, I know life and such can make it hard to continue the GVG Casts with any higher than 2 people sometimes, but really I always appreciate being able to hear y'all talk every Saturday morning, it genuinely is something I always look forward to! The Nintendo DS had some of my favorite childhood games like New Super Mario Bros, M&L Partners in Time and Bowser’s Inside Story, Mario Party DS, Yoshi’s Island DS and Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Darkness. I remember playing those games a lot when I started high school and I still do. Happy 20th birthday to the Nintendo DS. 🥰

I’m about 11 hours into brothership and I am on the whole enjoying it. It is a very drawn out introduction and takes a while before the gameplay really becomes fun but once you get the battle plugs and especially when you get the second bros attacks they become great fun. I’m not really a fan of the characters, some of the writing is funny and I do like snoutlet a lot but I couldn’t care less about IDLE and I just find a lot of the writing to be too friendly and so far I find the story a bit uninteresting compared to the first 4 games. So far I would put it ahead of Paper Jam and below Dream Team. There’s just something missing from it that was present in those first 4 and especially first 3 games that’s missing here but still not a bad game by any means

Brothership kinda has the same problem as Dream Team has and that's the pacing. Granted, it's not as bad as Dream Team because at least it's not filled with tutorials & unnecessary padding stuff that's everywhere in the entire game and you can skip them. But the first 3 hours of that game is an slog. It's Pokemon Sun & Moon and Zelda: Skyward Sword levels of slow start. But once you get pass that, it does get better. It's not quite as good as Superstar Saga or Bowser's Inside Story. But still good.

Daniel, I have not been following HoloCure but I am a proud little Pebble so I guess I need to get a decent PC now and get onto Steam to support the Advent team. Thanks for the heads up and I would enjoy seeing a video on the topic. Rock Rock.

whenever i click into this podcast every other month im hoping ill see at least half of the original crew and every time im disappointed

My ideal Nintendo World ride would be a river ride akin to stuff like Jungle Cruise, maybe even with a guide, but you shrink down into the world of Pikmin. The boats could be little ships or one big lilypad type thing, there would be scenes of Pikmin fighting different enemies, there could be an encounter with a Blowhog that sprays air or water at you, all kinds of possibilities. That or a Fire Emblem themed Medeival Times type area, though that could be either really cool or a complete disaster, lol.

My biggest problem with Brothership is that the pacing is so incredibly slow. The fact i had to play for 3 hours before fighting the first boss says it all. Not to mention the Idle kids constantly forcing themselves into the narrative later. This game is fun within combat and some platforming, but the rest is such a dreadful drag. (I'm 12 hours in btw)

Vampire Survivors is okay but I don't like that you have to change directions to attack. I prefer Survivor io.

I feel like, as someone who has always liked Mario & Luigi the most of the Mario RPGs, reception is just the same old same old. It has always been the redheaded stepchild. The only thing that's different this time that's making it worse is people who can't handle any change. I do get it, Luigi being automated disappointed me right away, but I got over it. And over 10 hours in I'm still accidentally pressing B to menu with Luigi in battle. But these things don't make the game bad, it's just different.

I definitely would prefer a solo episode if only 1 person is available.

I feel as if Grunty Industries will be the first world I'd get really frustrated with come 2025 with the $50 NSO upgrade.
