'Dying societies accumulate laws like dying men accumulate remedies.' Treating the symptoms. edit: by the way, the "disease" is the complete lack of discipline in this slap-happy, shirt-pulling, handbag-throwing game. Zero discipline in the name of it being "a physical sport"

It’s disappointing to see such a poorly produced explainer video attempting to clarify the new rules in Gaelic football, especially when it includes incorrect information like the so-called "2-meter point," which doesn’t even exist in the rules. While these new rules may merit trial, this video does little more than sow discord and confusion among viewers. Instead of providing clarity, it highlights a lack of effort and attention to detail from the GAA, which reflects poorly on their ambition to bring the sport into every household in Ireland. The reality is that these changes are shifting the focus away from the players on the field, making referees the central figures in the game. Highlights on TV will inevitably showcase balls being moved up 50 meters due to infractions, delaying the game further and putting players in a bad light by magnifying their mistakes. The way we report, view, and watch Gaelic football will become unrecognizable, as the entertainment shifts from celebrating good play to dissecting controversies. Pundits, newspapers, and commentators are surely licking their lips at the inevitable storm of disputes that will arise, overshadowing the skill and passion that define the game. Let’s hope the football itself isn’t as bad as the content created to explain it. If the GAA truly wants to educate and engage fans while preserving the integrity of the sport, they must prioritize quality, clarity, and professionalism in their communications.

I feel these rule changes can have a positive effect on the game, something needed to be done. I do think however, at some levels of the game, some of these rules could be difficult to implement.

Mayo get to All-Ireland final again. They say themselves were not going lose this one again. Limerick hurling team were like that at one stage. Until they started to get together and ask themselves Questions. Mayo is big county ,just as much Kerry. They have footballers so their no reason why they can't win a All-Ireland.

Tommy Walsh should have been sent off, too, and a throw-in should have been the outcome. The referee was very one-sided in 5 and won it for kilkenny.

Gaelic civilisation is 2,000 plus years old, been evolving since before 1AD. Nice to see Gaelic life and culture still central to the lives and economy of communities and people across the island of Ireland...
