Sweden racism is more systemic if you are black I never seen direct racism they play nice on my face but do the opposite at background its normal among them to treat black folks at work, schools etc

Helpful. Sweds are going to be so disappointed when they talk to b/c i dont listen to rap music or imurse in the culture that the public deems recognizably Black. 😅

Welldone, you all look happy and relaxed. Quick question: Are you living off your savings? Or do you have a passive income to live off? 🤔. Or do you eventually plan to go back, have you considered the effects on the kids etc etc.

I'm so embarrassed I'm guilty of #2. A while ago I talked with two black guys, at length, when they asked "varför pratar du inte svenska?" (why don't ypu speak Swedish?) and I didn't even know I was speaking English! Maybe we just like to come across as internationally savvy people?

But lets be real here, before the 90´s there simply werent many foriegners in sweden at all. Thats why., Its easy to understand. I grew up in a town where we had no immigrants until i was 17 years old. The swedish language is a pitch accent language like japanese. Everyone knows how important it is to pronounce words correctly in japanese. But swedeish has the same feature, so we are really bad at understanding different accents in our language. We are in fact shamed for it by the danes and norwegians as the ones who understand the others the worst. Norwegians have an advantage through (bokmal) People need to know more about the pitch accent so that swedes dont have to feel bad for not understanding, and so that foreigners know and understand why that is.Its not about racism, its in our language. The Japanese language has this respect. We do not. - a swede who has lived abroad since i was 22 in 2 different countries, studied language transition and old germanic. Fun fact: we didnt have a word for black in the viking age. Harald Bluetooth had a black tooth. Africa was called Blueland. Google about pitch accent: Pitch-accent, known as 高低アクセント (kōtei akusento) in Japanese, is the term used to describe when a language prominently sounds syllables or words by changing the pitch, rather than the volume. For example, あめ (ame) can mean “rain” (雨) or “candy” (飴) depending on whether the pitch goes high-low (rain) or low-high (candy)." "Languages that have been described as pitch-accent languages include: most dialects of Serbo-Croatian, Slovene, Baltic languages, Ancient Greek, Vedic Sanskrit, Tlingit, Turkish, Japanese, Norwegian, Swedish (but not in Finland), Western Basque, Yaqui, certain dialects of Korean, Shanghainese, and Livonian."

Also im from lapland, so yeah who has been through the most racism in sweden'? Black people who have lived here since, when the 70s? Or perhaps the sami people whose brains where studied in the 30s in stockholm for being subhuman? Again, lets be real and fair here.
