This song is one of their best of all time. It had better be included in their future "Greatest Hits" album! Everything about it is a MASTERPIECE! Those vocals scrape your heart out, and we need to talk about that drummer - Jeez!

So-oo great to hear A Touching Display. As an aside, I think that Wire have recently released what is easily their best album since 154; Mind Hive. Absolutely astounded by how good it is; that 3 old codgers in their 60’s (plus a young feller) can still put out such strong material is an absolute credit to their creative integrity and vision and a testament to disprove that with age comes decline - I came here hoping to find some live versions of the songs on it.

I'd never known where the title Scattered Black and Whites came from until seeing this, it had always eluded me. Great explanation. What a lyricist. Every song is a gem, thank you for recording it. This is something special. I don't think anyone else from England has written music so consistently with the emotional depth of Elbow this century, and it's all laid out here perfectly, along with lots of typical bonhomie, piled on extra thick for a hometown audience.
